5.0 out of 5 stars How to extinguish the burn
After several years of self-treating shoulder/arm burning with over-the-counter pain meds I developed heart palpitations which turned out to be a direct result of those meds. After my Doctor took x-rays and an MRI of my upper back/neck area I was immediately transferred to a Neuro-surgeon in Atlanta. My condition did not warrant "surgery" at this point so he prescribed...

3.0 out of 5 stars Well made - it works, but........
This product is solid and I am sure it can work OK.
BUT, we have 9 foot doors in our home and this product sure is not designed for that.
With a little more thought, it could be made to be more versatile - but it doesn't work for us.
Another complaint is that for $50-$60, it is very over-priced and comes with minimal instructions
And be sure you...

This review is from: Neckpro Over-the-Door Cervical Traction - Adjustable Door Bracket - Neck Traction
My condition did not warrant "surgery" at this point so he prescribed "25lbs neck-traction" to relieve pressure on the upper vertebral discs and hopefully reshape them. After discussion with my chiropractor re: pros and cons of the various types of traction equipment available I/we decided on the Neck-pro model. The Neck-pro does not put pressure on the collar bone area and only stretches the neck vertebra upwards and the head brace keeps the head aligned vertically. It took me a couple tries to get used to the strap-on process but now I set my timer for 10 min, ratchet out to full 20 lbs and can almost fall asleep. I do this daily, mainly about 20 min before bedtime so the discs don't re-compress. Now I can sleep all night without the burn. I've seen quite a sharp decrease in the arm pain in only about two weeks of using my Neck-pro. In addition: no pain meds! And - I feel about 2 inches taller! How good does it get!?

When my neck is tight this does help but I started out slow and gradually click as I sit. I do it for about 5-10 minutes. Now if there was only something for my shoulders-LOL!

5.0 out of 5 stars Satisfied with NeckPro!, February 27, 2012

I like the ease of the neck-pro. some years back I had one with the waterbag and it was a pain! I believe my problems with neck and shoulders are being relieved. I use the neck pro twice a day. THANKS to whomever came up with the neck-pro. One thing to think of is where you will use it. Make sure you have a solid door to hang the neck-pro on as a hollow core door is a bad idea...I wasn't thinking and messed up the first door! Amazon shipping was fast as usual!

Have been using this for several weeks. Well made. Does the job. Only problem is it says to use 10 lbs for 10 minutes - but at what point do know where the lbs are???? I pull the handle until I feel like it is doing the job - and count from there. Would definitely recommend. Easy - no mess. Always there when you need it.

I was informed that over-the -door traction devices should not be used unless expressly prescribed by a physician. Does not apply appropriate traction for certain disc problems in your neck and could cause injury. Be very careful if you are attempting to self-treat!
