has alot of potential,

now, it has been debating in-depth, quite for some time whether or not the necronomicon in general is a myth. That the belief system of this book generates it power only by new believers. Whether the necronomicon is authentic or not, this is not the case with me because it is a very powerful book. i know this by having a copy of it years ago.now concerning the spellbook; the book is explained quite simply. you will come to know what spirit to call and for what purposes, from what i've heard the results are immediate. i actually came across this book because of the sigils for i'm interested in all sorts of sigils. i have not tried any of the spells or incantations out of this book because there is not banishing ritual ( a license to depart the spirits after you've called them ) and that is a very bad thing. that is why i am giving this book a three star rating. to me, it seemed like simon was trying to get more consumers to buy his products with the continuation of the necronomicon legacy for the sole-purpose of making a fast buck. but if the spells due work (and from what i've heard, they do) it was very irresponsible of him to not decribe any banishing rituals in the book. any practitioner of the arts knows that banishing is a very serious rule of thumb when contacting any type of spirits. therefore i doubt his authentification (if any) of his knowledge in the occult. if you do buy this book and intend to use it, please learn how to properly banish spirits so you can develop a solid system of your own to banish these entities. you may get what you want but if you happen to so something wrong or just pissed of the the spirit by summoning it;it may linger around and eventuall destroy your life and that far outweighs any wish granted. so becareful!

THIS BOOK IS THE HOLY GRAIL ON PAPER!,
This review is from: Necronomicon Spellbook (Mass Market Paperback)
...This book is basically the easiest way to hold the universe in your hand! I tried almost every spell in it and without exaguartion, ALL WORKED! It's so simple and unlike other magical arts, it focuses on the imagination and true will. Basically, all you need is two candles and a stick of incense, no herbs, no nothing, and your prayers will be answered in ways you can't imagine. It's good for everything, money, love, danger or even black magic and curses (be sure not to toy around with it). All in all, for the price, it's the best deal you'll ever have.

AMAZING but it works,
This review is from: Necronomicon Spellbook (Mass Market Paperback)
I don't care how many reviews are on here saying it is a bad book and a hoax. This stuff works. I have been using with great success these rituals for a number of years. These are very powerful sumerian forces and used under the right magical context this stuff will blow your mind. If powerful magick is what you are seeking try it. What did Crowley say??? Question everything, record your own results. ANyone who says this book is junk has not tried it. THese are most powerful!!!!!

excellent text on spell working,
By A Customer
This review is from: Necronomicon Spellbook (Mass Market Paperback)
This is an excellent book on the working of spells. Simon gives the fifty names of Marduk as a basis for the working of spells. The spells are easy to work with and do not require exotic ingredients and other hard to find material. This book uses spells instead of evocative magick, which can be dangerous if you dont know what you are doing. This book is NOT a work of fiction, nor is the Necronomicon. These are dangerous books if you dont know what you are doing. I strongly suggest one read a primer on magick first such as Kraigs book, Modern Magick to get grounded in theory and practice. This book is not for armchair magicians. It is for those who seriously want to explore the limitless powers of the human mind. It is claimed that these books are fiction, but no fictional work can give real results. This spellbook works and it works very well. Dont get mixed up with it as a joke. This is serious stuff.

Interesting basic aproach,
By Romero Cunha(np26uo@mail.telepac.pt) (Portugal) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Necronomicon Spellbook (Mass Market Paperback)
This little book is an interesting basic aproach on the Necronomicon. The practices that concerned this book are simple and their magical bases are correct. Anyway they could be highlly empowered by other methods but, like this, they are simple and easy to do, becaming accessible to the average reader. Neverless the student can use them correctly if he has more knoledge then the one in the book. The visualiztion and the concentration are needed to make this practices work. I would recomend the reading of the Necronomicon before starting those practices. That way, one would know what was he dealing with. This book is what it is and have no intention to be anything more. So, it acheives it's goals. Of course the practice of the Necronomicon is much more than what is exposed in there, those simple practices aren't even referred in the Necronomicon. Anyway, they work, at least I'm testing them and the results are interesting untill now. Treat this book with respect and it can help you a lot. Specially if you have knoledge on the occult.

A Real Powerful Book,
By Daniel (blind25463@aol.com) (Chicago, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Necronomicon Spellbook (Mass Market Paperback)
This book really works I have owned it for a week now and done a few spells most of them worked. The only one that didn't work yet maybe it will who knows. It is a good book for someone who knows what they are doing other good books are Modern Magick by: Donald Michael Kraig, Summoning Spirits by: Konstanios, and The Necronomicon by: Simon. This book is not a toy and is to be taken seriously. I would suggest not to use it for evil because you won't get to enjoy what you did and your family and friends will suffer. If you have any questions or need help e-mail me.

very good,

A very good book. Concise and to the point. Try it! You wont be dissapointed if your a true enthusiast of the ancient art of magick. A warning though to those who are only "arm chair magicians" This book has the power to wreak havoc on you and your life so TAKE CARE. Otherwise This book dispells some of our carnal fears of utter destruction from forces unknown. The author lets you know that at least you will be working with nicer forces than what is illuded to in the bigger book. One thing, be wise in experimentation Do as the author commands he is not joking! I will say this that mixtures of diffrent types of lore command most interesting results. EXTREME power can be had by in depth workings especially those of an eclectic nature. However look in all directions for any possible problems These gods are old and i get the impression that they dont take any shinanigen from the "just curios". However to begin with go for the nicer guys, they will help you, but dont count on it for long i get the impression that you EARN what you get! Fair thee well fellow mages and GOOD LUCK!

A grain of truth,
By Kelly (Fantasy Literature) (Columbia, MO United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (TOP 500 REVIEWER)
This review is from: Necronomicon Spellbook (Mass Market Paperback)
I bought the _Necronomicon Spellbook_ several years ago because it was (a) cheap, and (b) somehow connected with the occult. Reading the "historical information" preceding the rituals, I realized it was a fabrication--there were too many little discrepancies and plot holes, most of which I can't recall offhand. Looking through the full _Necronomicon_ later on, I came to the came conclusion about the larger book. This Simon guy cobbled the books together using Lovecraft's work, his own imagination, and a bit of real Sumerian mythology.Yes, there is something real here. Several years after consigning the _Necronomicon Spellbook_ to the bottom of a box in my closet, I read the Babylonian creation myth, as found in _Poems of Heaven and Hell from Ancient Mesopotamia_ by N.K. Sandars. After Marduk slays the chaos-mother Tiamat, the other gods honor him by giving him fifty names. Sandars says that the names actually belong to earlier gods who were assimilated into the figure of Marduk. As I read the list of names, I found that most of them were identical to the Fifty Names listed in the _Spellbook_, and some of the attributions were similar. The Names are real, and belong to Mesopotamian gods who were actually worshipped at one time. Simon evidently read the myth and made use of it. Simon's rituals may or may not be a load of hooey. If they work for you, so be it. He probably made them up, but that doesn't mean they don't work. Still, I'd recommend reading the Babylonian creation myth instead--go straight to the primary source if you want to know about Marduk's fifty names.

Confused by the Necronomicon? This will clear it all up.,
By
This review is from: Necronomicon Spellbook (Mass Market Paperback)
This book, which is essentially a summary of one small section of the Necronomicon, is highly recommded both for those who have read the Necronomicon but were confused by it, or for those who have not yet read the Necronomicon but would like to get right into spellcasting. This book does away with all of the theory and confusing language, and presents fifty spells which you can actually cast right now, with little or no material components required. Uses the Fifty Names of MARDUK as a basis for casting spells.

i loved it,
By A Customer
This review is from: Necronomicon Spellbook (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is very powerfull if followed correctly and not to be palyed with. I performed a love spell and in exactly 3 days my lover came to me. This spell is a miracle for sure if done correctly. I recommend to read modern magic by Donald kraig before doing this book just to know what magic is and how magic works.
