Cant believe I'm going to be first. Read this book many years ago. Its the first book in a long series. A long series of fantastic books. Lumley creates scary, gory, and real evil vampires. Yes the series eventually has vampires. Not Anne Rice vampires so be warned. Starts with Harry the necroscope though. I read entire series twice and now I'm thinking of going for number three. BUY THIS BOOK!!

Brian Lumley is a genius when it comes to mixing horror, sci-fi, and ESP. These are far and away the best vampire books I have ever read.
