For being low budget, this was a really great flick!

This was actually hard to watch at points and I actually contemplated just turning it off.

This movie would be a forest. I had some high hopes for the film based on the trailer; however it seems that the trailer put every somewhat "good" part in it. I usually don't mind constrained budgets if the movie provides some level of entertainment. This was actually hard to watch at points and I actually contemplated just turning it off. I kept hoping some redemption could be found eventually, but it never came.

"Echo"-ey dialogue is probably one of my biggest pet peeves. The majority of the dialogue in this movie has one person sounding as if they were in a cave. I'm thinking there was no budget for a second boom mic. Compound that with absolutely dreadful performances, non-existent tension and a completely vapid premise loosely incorporating the Donner Party, and you have one big snooze fest.

My advice: save your money.

Isn't it wonderful when a filmmaker gets friends and family to pack a film with great reviews???

This movie opens with a murder that is stiff and badly acted (even by 1960's horror movie standards). Then it follows a bunch of completely boring characters around a cabin with no action, really bad dialogue and worse acting. (Even the actors seem bored to tears.)

Gore fans will be disappointed. The primary horror of this movie is that the viewer is so bored the eyes are rolling back in his/her head before you ever get to any of the fake-looking gore.

A complete waste of 90 minutes.

First,
I want to be clear in that I am biased because this movie has 80's teen singer hottie Tiffany in it.
The acting was okay but the editing was poorly executed at times that detracted from an overall good storyline.
If you can get past that I think you'll enjoy the movie as long as you don't expect Oscar worthy performances from the unknown actors who act in this movie.

This film is a waste of money so spare yourself the torture. That is unless you are a fan of the 80's mall teen singer Tiffany because she's in it. But it it is still hooorrrribbblllleeee.

Don't let the title and DVD cover fool you - heck, I think the plot summary is misleading, as well. This isn't a film about the restless ghosts of the ill-fated Donner Party rising up from their snowy graves to terrorize a group of friends stranded inside a lonely cabin in the Sierra Nevada range. You aren't going to see steaming hunks of human flesh coloring the snow red, either. Frankly, I'm quite glad that Necrosis was not the film I was expecting because what I was expecting was yet another predictable and utterly forgettable horror survival thriller. There are far too many Cabin Fever clones polluting the horror field already, but Necrosis is not one of them. In this case, I do believe that less is more. By the way, I'm assuming that we are all clear on the identity and meaning of the Donner Party in this context - if you think the Donner Party has something to do with reindeer, then go read a book and educate yourself.

OK. Having scored a great deal on a primo cabin in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Matt (George Stults) and Karen (Tiffany) head up there with four friends to enjoy a weekend of invigorating, stress-free fun and relaxation. The locals (including horror icon Michael Berryman) are a little weird about the idea of staying there, but Matt already knows the history of the cabin. Located in the same area as the Donner Party's ill-fated campsite, the woods outside the cabin are said to be haunted by the ghosts of those who died during the winter of 1846. Maybe the locals were right in their warnings about the place, though. Poor Jerry (James Kyson Lee) starts seeing disfigured, axe-toting spirits soon after arriving, while his girlfriend Megan (Penny Drake) almost goes and gets herself killed accidentally.

Necrosis is one of the best times I've had watching a horror film in awhile. While nothing new was offered to the horror genre, I was entertained by the acting, effects, and The Donner Party. Oh, how I love The Donner Party, and their story that keeps coming back in horror films. I believe this is not a trend that will end soon. The acting, TIFFANY(80's pop star) that everyone had a crush on is back, and is acting in this film! She was great to watch, that alone made my night. JAMES KYSON LEE (Ando from Heroes) shows us that he doesn't just play sidekicks, he can a very brutal person too. George Stults (7th Heaven), Micheal Berryman(The Hills Have Eyes), Penny Drake, and the very pretty Danielle De Luca. Why isn't she in more films! The effects were actually top notch. Normally I would think that a film like this would lack great effects, but there was nothing to complain about at all. I was happy. So heat that bag of popcorn, sit on your couch, and get ready to watch a film that is both fun and entertaining.

Okay, it starts off a bit slow, but when the main conflict begins it picks up. I really liked how the cast worked together. I was waiting for some really bad/cheesy acting and useless gore. But everyone was pretty good. I even jumped a couple of times.
