Better out there,

This review is from: Ned and the General: A Lesson about Deployment (Hardcover)
This books is okay. There are certainly better ones out there. It is a series of short (1-2 page) poem-style accounts by characters about their experiences/feelings. These stories feel a bit incomplete when compared to other children's books on the subject. Also, multiple accounts talk about the fear of a parent dying - just a note for those wishing to avoid that topic with younger kids. In my opinion, age range recommendation should be 7-9.
