Editorial Reviews

Everything old is spoofed again in these four animated shorts about a bald, big-eared boy named Ned who overfeeds his pet newt. Weighing in at 500 lbs., Newton frantically morphs his way through each episode, à la Robin Williams's genie in Aladdin. He often performs short scenes from such classics as Citizen Kane and The Maltese Falcon, or disguises himself to help his little owner in and out of trouble. Together, boy and beast cope with Frankenstein, build and destroy a newspaper empire, create an exclusive tree-fort club, and learn (or unlearn) world history. Thanks to their low gross-out factor, quick pace, and fairly tame situations, these cartoons could appeal to 5-year olds, 10-year olds, or adults. --Liane Thomas

5.0 out of 5 stars Everyone Must Buy!, September 18, 2004
This review is from: Ned's Newt: Home Alone With Newt [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This show is excellent. I watched it as a kid with my sister in Iceland, and it's hilarious. I feel good to know it's on VHS, but there should be more out.

I bought this tape for my children, but I really bought it for myself also.I remember seeing Neds Newt on tv a few years ago and I thought it was hysterical. Definitely a tape that kids and adults can enjoy together.
