Capstone Press is a prolific and premier publisher of non-fiction books for young readers. Under their 'Pebble' imprint, they've now published a new sixteen volume series called "Helpers in Our Community" which is specifically designed, written and illustrated for children preschool through second grade. Each individual volume is an entertaining and informative introduction to an occupation that is common to all communities and which children will see at work around them. This simply outstanding series include "We Need Auto Mechanics"; "We Need Child Care Workers"; "We Need Construction Workers"; "We Need Dentists"; "We Need Doctors"; "We Need Farmers"; "We Need Fire Fighters"; "We Need Garbage Collectors"; "We Need Mail Carriers"; "We Need Nurses"; "We Need Pharmacists"; "We Need Plumbers"; "We Need Police Officers"; "We Need School Bus Drivers"; "We Need Veterinarians"; and "We Need Zoo Keepers". Superbly illustrated with color photography which superbly enhances a clear and succinct text, each book clearly identifies the role that particular occupation plays in the life of the community. Although each title can be obtained separately, school and community libraries would be best advised to obtain the entire series for the benefit of their young students and patrons.
