Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Edward Hudgins notes that America has been the land of the individual, and that most Americans have thought of themselves as individualists. We still speak favorably of individual rights -- yet paternalism and collectivism underlie much contemporary mainstream American political thought. Hudgins cites key examples not only from leftists and socialists but also from traditional conservatives and neo-conservatives -- and contrasts the principles of genuine and robust moral individualism to all of them.
