This game is a blast to play, and I really enjoy the fact that this is the first need for speed that included a few muscle cars from the 60's.

The only downside to the game is the fact that it is a little buggy. I have to setup my wheel and button assignments every time I play the game. It won't save the assignments.

this game is amazing stop complaining about little things like "scraping against cars is violent!" or "evading police is bad", siriously, why don't you go play gta or the new medal of honor and complain about alkeida

First off, I'm rating 4 stars for:
cheap (I just lerned staples ripped me off, but oh well)
fun (I played thisgame for hours)
NFS (I just like the series)

there are a few bad parts though,

dosent support joystick/gamepads (unlike NFS most wanted)
a little buggy

overall, you cant find a game this cheap (thats not on sale) thats also this fun,

PS: for some reason, i installed it on a windows 7 pc, went to game exlporer, and it says collectors edition, i guess you dont need to spend 30 bucks extra!

For an older racing game this game rocks. Decent graphics, customizable cars and dozens of race options, it is tough to beat for the price.

I recieved my game, and noticed Vista is not listed anywhere on the box, so tried to use the updater, it hung and would not go through, went to the ea patch site and it has different patches for the UK or US version... i did not know which I should download as its not clear anywhere on the box which version it is, but the customer support number is in the UK.

The game does start up but I know there will be little glitches unless it is updated to Vista. Contacted the seller, waiting for response on how to tell which version this is and which patch to download.

Hi. so i got this in the mail and it came in like 6 days. I was real exited and played it right away. there was no problem and it ran just fine. Personally I just like doing free roam! It is really fun and it had no cons except the fact that it was in a small case. But worked great.
I would reccomend this to anyONe!!!!

It is my own personal opinion that a rating of Teen would have been more appropriate for this game. I bought it for my 11-year-old son after reading some other reviews, but they did not really represent the true nature of the game. It's certainly not awful, but I really don't need my son racing through city streets hitting station wagons and minivans and intentionally smashing police cars. I am a gamer myself, and full well know the difference between games and reality, but there are so many other racing games available we bought one of those and won't let him play this one anymore. This is just an FYI for parents who may share our sensibilities.
