5.0 out of 5 stars NFS Pro Street
-This game is based off professional racing and not URL. You start out in the game with a 240 (Nissan 240SX). From there you win money by winning and then you can spend it on upgrades or buy a new car.

For the Pc and PS3 this game is awesome! I've seen it with my own eyes. -This game is based off professional racing and not URL. You start out in the game with a 240 (Nissan 240SX). From there you win money by winning and then you can spend it on upgrades or buy a new car.

-They added damage so now you can't go 200 mph slam into a wall and just take off you will most likely total your car. Let me say if you hit a bump in Nevada and flip its pretty sweet to watch as you car falls apart after rolling 5 times.

-The drag racing is just like normal drag racing you have your 1/4 and your 1/4 but they a Wheelie Stand race where you try and keep you cars front end in the air for the longest time.

-You can spend hours trickin out your car with decals and vinyl and then show it off in races. Plus you can now move decals and vinyls all over the car to give it the racing look you want. No more having to put up with a limited amount of space, now the whole car is yours.

Cons:
-The guy in the background on the mic can be annoying but I just tone him out.

-I do miss the free roam but you have to remember this is based on professional racing not amateur racing and it's supposed to turn people to go pro and to get off the streets and make real money with their skills.

1.0 out of 5 stars Piece of crap for PS2. PC and PS3 better..., November 26, 2007
= Fun:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Need for Speed: Prostreet (Video Game)
For the Pc and PS3 this game is awesome! I've seen it with my own eyes. I realize that when a game comes out for a certain system, in this case PS3, that they have to cut back a little when putting it to a different system, PS2. Not owning a PS3 I got it for my beloved PS2...DISSAPOINTMENT! It looks like absolute crap! Even the animated menus have been shot down to a lame still image. I was shocked! I felt like I was playing the first Gran Tourismo.

I knew that they changed their format to real pro street racing and got away from the free roam city driving, which is fine, but I can't believe they cut back this much to put it on PS2. This system can handle MUCH more than this. When I saw it on PC it looked great and the damge was amazing, but on the PS2 version you can slam it into the wall all you want and all you see is paint scrape??!!!!! What the hell??!!!

A warning to every one: Only get this game if you have a good PC or a PS3. If you want a good Need For Speed game for PS2 get Need For Speed: Carbon. It's a fun and challenging game with good graphics and sound. But a word to the wise. Don't buy cars you don't need. Save your money for the end. You're going to need it. It's frustrating if you don't.

Anyway, BOOO to you EA for ruining a good game for those who don't have new system.

3.0 out of 5 stars let down, December 20, 2007
= Fun:3.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Need for Speed: Prostreet (Video Game)
I was really exited to try this game after seeing the video preview for it but wow was I let down. This game is full of problems with the grafics (such as when you roll up to the staring line, the rims aren't even turning) Its also not nearly as much fun as the older Need for Speed games like NFS Hot Pursuit 2. I was hoping the NFS titles would get their act together on this one but no they're just getting sloppier and sloppier ever since NFS Carbon.

I played the latest version in the need for speed franchise, I wanted to find better graphics and gameplay as in "Need for Speed Carbon" and "Need for Speed Most Wanted". I feel the last need for speed title isn't as fun as its previous titles, and the organized races aren't as fun as the Underground races (well, in videogames).

2.0 out of 5 stars Another year, another Need for Speed game..., December 4, 2007
= Fun:2.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Need for Speed: Prostreet (Video Game)
Once again, EA proves that some things never change. Case in point, Need for Speed: Prostreet, which continues the series' long running tradition of street racing. This time around, things actually do get changed up a bit, at least it seems that way at first anyway. The game's central storyline, involving street racers talking trash and such, is nowhere near as interesting as what we've seen in Carbon and Most Wanted, which is saying something. However, you're not playing Need for Speed for story, you're playing for racing action, and you do get it with NFS: Prostreet, but it's nothing you haven't played before, or played better either. The race tracks aren't very different from one another, and the cars featured here have been seen before in previous games in the series. The racing itself is fine, and the controls are solid as well, and for a PS2 game, the graphics aren't too bad. It is also worth noting that there are two glaring omissions here that are nearly unforgivable. For starters, the PS2 version of the game lacks any online functionality, which is an expected disappointment, but there's no police chases either. What was undoubtedly the best part of the past few NFS games was the police chases, and their omission is just mind boggling. It's also worth nothing that the in-game advertisements and product placements are all over the place here, but then again, this is EA, so this isn't much of a surprise at all really now is it? All in all, if you're still holding on to your PS2 and looking for some new street racing action, Need for Speed: Prostreet is really all you have for now, but even so, you could still definitely do better.

5.0 out of 5 stars A realistic and interesting game, October 18, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Need for Speed: Prostreet (Video Game)
Something I don't like about this game is that the menu screens are a little slow to completely show up. I like the idea of legal racing more than idea of illegal racing because you can relax better when you play. One thing that called my attention on this game is how slow your car runs, but that may be because I'm just starting to play this game. The graphic are grate, both on the menus screens and when racing. In conclusion, I think that this is a very good game by Electronic Arts.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good game., September 29, 2010

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Need for Speed: Prostreet (Video Game)
I like this game, but its a lot different from previous need for speed games I've played. I love the Need for Speed most wanted which allowed me to drive around in free roam and was hoping this game would have the same thing, but it didn't. Other than that the game play is pretty good, races run smoothly and quickly. I muted the announcer guy pretty quickly, as he got extremely annoying after 10min of playing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice game., July 6, 2009
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Need for Speed: Prostreet (Video Game)
This is a very nice game but there is one reason that i dont like it. It is the most realistic game i have for the ps2 but that does not make it the best. In this game u r always on a racing track not on the road so there is no cops or ways to get in trouble. There r so many different cars to buy and choose from. Sometimes when u win the race day u get a free car marker so u can get a free car, a damage marker so u can repair ur car for free, parts so u can get free parts for ur car, and a money one so u win free money. It takes forever to beat this game because it is so long and there is so many race days. There is so many ways to fix up ur car and it is amazing of how many things u can do to customize it. The thing i do not like about it is it is the hardest game i have ever played. As u get three fourths of the way done it has this race called speed challenge and it is impossible to beat because u r going so fast that u run into something or flip over because it is kind of hard to go 200 mph on a road that is curvy and only have two lanes. For each type of race the game gives u a free car but it is not so good so u might as well buy a new one, and u have to have a special car for each type of race. It is a fun game with the best graphics for the ps2 but it is the hardest racing game i have ever played.
