For 10 bucks it's a great game. The Graphics are good and the opition to be on th other side of the law cool. And u can download different cars and better graphics. IT'S WORTH THE MONEY!!!!!

This does have great graphics and a very good feel to it, but at times it's just too hard. Hardly any of the cars supplied with the game are worth using, you just don't have a hope in hell. Yes, it's slick. Yes, it's great for multiplayer. Yes, if you download new cars of the net then it's good fun. But with most cars it's far too hard and there's no sensation of speed. One mistake and there's no point in playing on. It's the same story with Hot Pursuit. The idea that a bath tub like a Corvette can possibly catch up with and arrest a Counthash is ridiculous - yet that's what you have to do when you're a cop. I also think that the options are sometimes limiting. You can only play Hot Pursuit for a single race - you can't have cops in competitions. Oh, and the graphics may generally be excellent but the trees, dust and smoke look awful and the crome is cool but over-exaggeratted.

Now that updated sequels to this game have been made, I think it's worth forgetting about. Really good fun at times, but 3 stars is all it deserves because of sloppy programming concerning the difficulty. I shouldn't have to download stuff just to enjoy a game. If you have someone to play 2 player with though, or you can be bothered to download a load of cars from the net then it's worth getting if you see it cheap coz then it IS a really good game. Plus, it has some of the best race-courses I've ever played on. I just think that if EA had spent more time on the feel of the game and the gameplay plus A LOT more testing for the difficulty level instead of leaves and snow flying up on the windscreen then this could have been a better game.

If you throw down $0.25 every time you play this game and enjoy it, you'll find $10 on the table pretty quick.

The good points:
-Looks good even if not up to the latest standards set by Grand Tourismo. On the plus side, that means it runs on older systems without hick-ups.
-Plenty of track and car options. You won't get bored of driving the same car (there are multiple classes and multiple vehicles per class) and every track can be driven normal or backwards, plus you can change the time of day and weather.
-Different race modes (single race, career, hot pursuit) keep things interesting.
-Multi-player action makes any game more fun.

The downside:
-The force feedback is rudimentary.
-If you have great graphics hardware you won't get to really use it to its fullest.
-For an extra $ you can get Need For Speed:5.

This game is awesome. I had this game previously, but my disc was scratched and unreadable by my computer, so I just had to buy me a new one. This game is really fun, I like being able to get new cars and race with police cars. The graphics on this game are great and it is very realistic. It also has great control. Overall, I love this game and everyone should experience a game like this.

This is a great game! I've had it for a couple of years and it is still fun. With out a 3d graphics card the graphics settings in the game have to be set way low or it is REALY hard to beat other cars. This is a game that is fun for hours or if you've only got 15 minuts, but you'll want to go on and try another car. Searching the web it looks like NFSIII is still hot although the newer versions are to. Only the good ones stick around long. This one is a keeper.

I think this game is awesome. It is probally my most favorite game right now. Being chased by cops is the best part of the game. The AI intellagance is very high. The cops for once know what they are doing. They have lots of different way to stop you from road blocks to spike strips. I think that you should buy this game.

I dont have it yet, but i had a chance 2 c it on my friend's machine. You wont notice any difference from reality if you're playin' with stereo glasses.

ok. not much to rave about, but it gets fun with all the downloadable cars and even making your own.

I'm an 11 year old. I play a lot of games. I really like racing games. This one is the best one Ive ever played. It has stunning visual effects, great sound, and it will play on computers that are higher than windows 98 or 95. This games is well created and realisim is inserted. If you want a game that you can have a lot of racing, and something a little different, like being chased by cops, this is the game for you!!

Need For Speed 3 is a great game.....with a 3D Video Card! The game's graphics are cheap without one. The lines on the road don't appear until you drive over them! The words on the Police Cars don't appear at all! The car itself it's falling apart in the Replay Option. When your break the law in Hot Pursuit Mode the cops can call for help, lay SpikeStrips and dispatch Road Blocks. However, when you join the law enforcement and become a cop you can't do any of that but lay SpikeStrips! That is not fair if they can call 50 cops to help them but you can't! That's what is so cool about NFS4: High Stakes you are a equal to the computer opponent. EA made a great game for ones that have a 3D Video Card and should of made a better Sofware Version! NFS4 is alot more realisc then NFS3. In NFS3 you could jump in the air and land upside down then roll down the a 50 feet hill and never get a scrach! In NFS4 you could do excatly the same and you would have beatin up windowsheid your tires would be flat and your sirens would smashed or even knock off (If your a cop that is!).

Pros:
1.Great Showcase opition!
2.Has cool Slide Show pictures of the real car.
3.Neat make your own color opition.
4.Awesome early warning track infomation before you race/chase.

Cons:
1.Cheap Sofware Version
2.No help (Road Block,Dispatch other cops etc.) in Hot Pursuit.
3.When your a outlaw Cops always attempt a Road Block when they begin there chase.
4.When you hit a Dead End or you crash and have nothing to do but wait for the cops they jam in to your car! They don't hit there brakes or slide then Ticket you.
5.When they jam in your car and get out there car always backsup without the cop controlling the car! NOW THAT'S SOMTHING YOU DON'T SEE EVERYDAY!
