make it this one. the first time i heard this cd, i felt like "what is that?" and then this wave of pleasure came over me as if i had just tasted something that i've never had before. these ladies make it fresh and serve it up hot. its a shame that they haven't released more albums. They're one of my fav bands and put on a GREAT live show! don't fear, extensions of their sound can be found on The Transfused and Mocket's Pro Forma. run don't walk to buy this cd!!!

It's too short. That's my main gripe. This pair of queer girls from olywa use all kinds of methods to create a very stange, appealing piece of art. Radio and Rachel's voices are amazing and compelling, and the instrumentation along with it is so bizarre you just have to smile and listen twice. The tracks "Rim Me Isabella" and "Crown" shine the most, with "Crown" almost leaning towards what is considered (dare i say it?) normal in a musical sense. yet i use that term very, very lightly. They're creative, and definitly worth your money if you want something new and original.

I heard "The Need is Dead" before finally buying this cd, and i was very pleased!!! By far the best track is "Crown". The way the verses are sung are just so cool. actually the chorus is amazing in how its sung also...apparently, "crown"-written by Radio, and "majesty"-written by Rachel kind of go together; they were written about each other which is a fun fact. "Sam" is my other favorite. Buy this cd!

I remember hearing Bikini Kill a few years back along with some other bands of the ilk, and thinking, hey, these bands would actually be somewhat good if they were at least BARELY competent on their instruments. Ironically, The NEED fills the NEED for such a group. Try putting old-school brit girl new-wave punk like early Siouxsie, the Maneaters, X-Ray Spex and Action PACT with the B-52s and the freakish likes of Mr. Bungle, then throw in a generous helping of the great sixties garage-group the Music Machine in the blender, and you will get a nice big serving of the NEED. One of the best new punk acts to come out from the last few years, which is formidable considering the musical dark ages we are living in right now. I can't wait to buy the other album. Neither should you.

I love this band. The music makes me feel pleasantly uneasy. If only they had about 10 more albums for me to collect and listen to over and over again.

Radio and Rachel Tragity: the name just says it all

DEFINATLY the worst thing about this cd is that it ends! I SOOO regret that i missed their show here! i can't wait to hear what else they have come up with! track 4 is GREAT and is actually all i heard before purchasing the cd... but yea it's insane, it's wonderful, and it's definatly something to listen to again and again and again....
