This is an art new to me and one that I won't ever do as I am allergic to wool! But for those who aren't, this craft will allow you to create wonderful embellishments and even a small purse. These embellishments can be used to decorate sock slippers, jeans, sweaters, hats, purses, jewelry and even a wall hanging.

The first section has three pages which take you through the process of how to needle felt. It tells you about the materials used and the tools needed. There are photos to show you what they are talking about. Each project has a materials lists and detailed enough instructions but not overly so. In other words, you will be able to create the projects if you read the instructions.

There are sixteen difference projects and all the patterns needed are at the back of the book. There is also a resource list on the last page in case you are unable to find the materials the authors recommend. Using needle felting and this book, you can create embellishments to be proud of.

When you purchase a book, you never know what you are going to get unless you can locate numerous reviews. Most of the time Amazon has good reviews and you can get the flavor of a book and if it is one you want for yourself.

Needle Felting Artful Fashion by, Judy Jacobs and Kay Kaduce offers you fun and different ways to needle felt projects. This book is filled with informational pictures, templates, resources to get the materials you will need for each project.

This book shows you how to take readymade items and turn them into diva fashions. I love the idea of taking a readymade baby pillow and a bear and doing something personal for a baby shower or a new baby. "pictured" Don't forget the pre-teens and teens going off to college. You can needle felt their school emblems or teams onto jackets, jeans, bedding, tees and whatever. Turn that plain sweater into a designer wearable that everyone will ask about. Create lavish embellishments on purses, slippers, hats, purses, jewelry and wall hangings.

Leisure Arts did a great job on the project designs. They are more upscale and art oriented than I have experienced with their knitted designs historically. Good job!

I was very disapointed when I got this magazine. If the few pages was packed with good ideas or useful information it would at least been worth saving, but it compleatly lacks imagenation, and the stuff is ugly.. sorry. This is a complete waste of money!!

..........there are so many really great books on this subject right here on amazon, right now that i can assure this is NOT the best buy. i bought it on impulse while hurriedly shopping at Joannes,i plan on returning it ASAP.examples of projects are artistically sophmoric..great for your children perhaps but not for quality gift giving. i have already ordered replacement books from amazon,this really is a mere shadow of those offered here at amazon.take a pass!...NF

I've just started doing needle felting and this book is a good guide to some of the possibilities for the craft and I'm glad I purchased it. I've purchased other beginning guides, but have yet to find what I am most interested in, which is doll-making and sculpture. If you've just bought your first bag of roving, a few needles, and a foam cushion, this book is a good place to start learning some basic techniques. Now I'm ready for more advanced techniques and ideas, but don't know where to find it other than at the local fiber artists' guilds.
