5.0 out of 5 stars A must have!, December 24, 2005
This review is from: The Needle Was Travelling (Audio CD)
This album is an absolute treasure. Having only heard Dwellers on the threshhold i was unsure what to expect. The sheer range in "dwellers" made it difficult to anticipate which direction tarwater would follow.

This album is definately more consistent than the last one, both in terms of quality and sound. The album is cohesive and always interesting. I hesitate to use the word pop, but the accesability of the album definately has a pop feel to it. Tarwater seem to have a phenominal ability to blend electronic and organic sounds. If you're already a fan of Tarwater then you don't need me to tell you to buy it, but I will anyway...buy it!

3.0 out of 5 stars subliminally catchy, October 30, 2005
This review is from: The Needle Was Travelling (Audio CD)
Having greatly enjoyed To Rococo Rot's "Veiculo" and "Music Is a Hungry Ghost," I bought "The Needle Was Traveling" with some confidence. It did not immediately engage me, but Lippok's vocals dug into my unconscious and made me reach for the record over and over. "Stone," "Across The Dial," and "The People" are subliminally catchy -- this is an album of understatements that is very rewarding over the long term.
