The sound quality is surprisingly good, with very little, almost no noise in playback.

Not only did they say they'd give me a full refund, they said I could keep the defective mics so that I wouldn't have any more trouble with mailing it back to them.
Jason
When they tell me I paid like 5 dollars for three + pairs of these, they can't believe it.

Just a quick test of the audio quality of the lav mic vs. the inbuilt mic on a Canon 600D(T3i) and a MxL 990. Normal speaking volume, mid-range male voice. Both Lapel mic and 990 were recorded into the Zoom H1, 990 was run through/powered by the Behringer Xenyx 802 soundboard. 600D was set to auto sound leveling. No post production was done on audio, beyond some basic volume control.

MxL delivered more low range, had more presence and was crisper than the lav, but these little cheap things are still an improvement over the mic in the 600D. Tested later against the mic in a Canon Vixia HF R20, and, while the R20's inbuilt is much cleaner than the 600D's the lav still edged it out, in my opinion. Direct input into the either camera resulted in something of a mixed bag. Solid improvement over the inbuilts but, against a dedicated recorder, the camera's electronics are noticably a step down, even from the lowly H1. Plus the cord isn't really long enough for direct input to be practical.

Bottom line, any dedicated mic with recorder will almost always be better than the mics in most low to midrange cameras, and even getting the mic away from the camera helps a lot. So those on a shoestring budget wanting to do talking head style videos should take notice of these little wonders.

I bought these because i'm trying to organize my friends into a League of Legends team, and we need to be able to talk on Ventrillo. Most of them didn't have microphones, so I bought these.

This is a package of 3 different individual microphones all shipped together. That makes these around 1.50$ each after shipping. As far as I can tell that makes these the cheapest mics on all of amazon.

All 3 of them work perfectly. I set my windows recording level to maximum and that seems to adequately pick up my voice.

The plastic clips are not glued on, and are just held on with friction. You can remove them entirely just by sliding them off. This could probably be fixed with a little elmers glue if you cared enough.

I don't clip them to my shirt, I just clip them to my keyboard wire which is about 3 feet from my face. That way I don't have to deal with moving it around every time I start or stop recording.

I compared them to the Olympus ME-15 Microphone I normally use, (22$ at time of writing) and these only sound slightly worse. I would have to be listening pretty hard to even notice the difference. The Neewers seem to pick up a little more of the ambient room noise like my computer fan. Considering the Neewers are only a fraction of the price, I would have used these if I could do things over.

Ok, so I left the seller a three star review originally. HOWEVER, I am amending that here. The product did take some time to get to me, but it did get to me within the time frame that it was supposed to. Email communication with the seller was very positive. In my original seller's review, I said that the product did not work with my camcorder or my computer. Let me correct that to a degree. The camcorder required a "powered" mic, which I did not realise until several days after trying to use it with my cam. It did not work with my video editing software, but it does work with my music editing software, in essence, allowing me to do my voiceover work as intended. The sound quality is surprisingly good, with very little, almost no noise in playback. It is a very sensitive mic, and handles noise reduction from other sources very well. Surprisingly well. So, I am rating this FIVE STARS for the following reasons:

1. The product works much better than anticipated.

2. The price for something that works this well is AWESOME!

3. The product arrived well packaged, and in perfectly new condition.

4. The seller has excellent communication, and even offered a refund due to my original seller's feedback. I did turn down the refund after finding out that the product will be usable, and works very well. (My apologies to the seller here.)

So, in closing, this product is good. The seller is good. Just make sure to find out whether you need a powered mic, or if a non-powered mic before ordering to save the seller and you a headache.

Thank you New Harbor for your understanding, and for your product.

I use a Sony ICD-AX412 Digital Flash Memory Voice Recorder to take notes and voice memos. An external clip-on mic helps reduce the background noise and increase the clarity of the speaker.

I had been searching Amazon for quite some time looking for an inexpensive, high quality lavalier (lapel) microphone. These mikes, when purchased in a five-pack, are about $1.75 each. I thought maybe a mike in the $10-20 range would be a better choice. But I had difficulty finding one worth buying. Now I know why: these work great.

I compared this head to head with an Audio-Technica ATR-3350 Lavalier Omnidirectional Condenser Microphone that costs about $20-25. The ATR does sound better: there is less background noise. And the bottom end is nicer (better bass).

The ATR does look better, too. Its mic capsule is metal instead of plastic and much, much smaller. The cord is a more rugged. And the tie clip is much sturdier.

I purchased this mic on Amazon from BestDealUSA. They are one of two suppliers that sell these mics in multi-packs. You can buy the mics individually or in packs of two, three or five. If you buy five at once, it works out to $1.75 per mic.

Yes, the ATR sounds better and looks better. But it's over ten times the price! For voice recording, computer applications, and so on, these mics are great. Cheap but good sound.
