Unpacked it and it seems like pretty good quality.

On my first attempt to use the rain cover, the plastic drawstring mechanism for the lens opening snapped apart.

I ordered 2 of these as I've been contracted to do a video and still documentary of the current Route 66 and I know the weather will be ugly being its going to be shot the week before Christmas.

Got these last night and went to an immediate fitting. The zippers on the bottom are heat bonded and immediately separated from the clear vinyl. Brought out the sewing machine and fixed the zipper problem. The vinyl is 8 gage which is heavy enough to do the job. However mounting the camera is a test. If you are using a larger speedlight like the 580 it is a tight fit. The sleeve for the speed light has a frosted end providing diffusion as there is no way you could fit a filter internally on the flash in this sleeve. You MUST install your speed light in the rain cover first then the camera. Kind of a trick mounting it on the hot shoe but when that's done no worries. The lens sleeve is large enough to support a 70/200 "L" series lens. It has a draw string to synch it around the lens hood. If you have a large body SRL like the EOS 1DS Mark ii or the EOS 5D Mark ii getting it through the zipper compartment is a challenge but once in it's all good. The side sleeves are big enough to comfortably get your hands in and go about a ¼ up your arm.

For the price you can't go wrong. I would recommend if you purchase this item that you take the time to sew the zippers in place. I can't give this a high rating as for the heat bonding issues but there is no doubt it will do the job out there.

A neat and uncomplicated item - once you work out the best way to drape it over your camera, lens, flash and top of the tripod. That process may appear to be so simple it needs no mention at all but this item comes with NO instructions whatsoever - not even the best way of cleaning it or servicing the zips, and that for an important item you will only use in bad weather!

Let me be quite clear, this cover appears to be well made and straight-forward as far as overall use is concerned. It is, however, an item which will ONLY be used in inclement weather and for that reason, once purchased, is likely to be put away (and forgotten) until needed. The lack of simple instructions, therefore, will not be at hand when the user is struggling to assemble and protect expensive camera, lens, flash and fit them all to a tripod in the rain.

May I suggest, therefore, you download and print a copy of the item in use - as shown in this or other, similar, advertisements, and place that picture in your camera bag so that you have a ready-reference when needed. A reminder to completely clean and dry the item immediately after use might also be useful for some...

I hope this helps and that the makers are taking notes!

I have to say that when seeing the low price for this product, I made this purchase assuming it would be a one or two time use and probably end up in the garbage. This is the complete opposite. This is actually made of decent quality plastic and so far ive used it a few times with me dslr with no issues at all! Works perfectly and I already placed an order for more!

I ordered this and two others similar items at the same time. When this arrived I did not even try the others. This is great. I take pics of high school football, and they play in the rain. It covers everything including my arms to the elbow while using it. Great item.

Good protector for rainy days and for internal shots in locations such as bathrooms, or for shooting pool areas or hot tubs. I recommend not expose directly under running sink, shower or any other continuous water intake. Never use in saunas, the steam can sneak through the openings of the cover and damage the exposed parts such as the lens and filters. after use, do not bend it, leave it completely open and exposed to air and heat; dry any remaining water with a dry cloth.

A must have item for the desert where sudden dust storms occur without warning. Handling the camera with this on it is very easy.

It's not a THINK TANK COVER - but it's a LOT LESS EXPENSIVE! AND IT WORKS! I shoot for a pro baseball team that won their Division this past season. EVERYTHING IN THE CLUBHOUSE WAS SOAKED/SPRAYED with champagne, including ME! This cover performed like a champ, no leaks and pretty good seals around the lens. I purchased it for CASUAL use. If I expected to use it more than that I'd probably look into another, sturdier (but more expensive) unit. Again, this worked swell, at minimal cost.

I finally had the chance to use my cover after having it for over a year. The power went out, (so nothing to do inside) and the storm was great, and the roads were flooding during rush hour... so i grabbed my Canon T3i, my 35mm Lens and the Neewer rain cover...crossed my fingers, and went out in the street.

Not a single drop of rain hit my camera and i got some great shots.

The only bad thing is if youre using a manual focus lens, its quite a task to squeeze some fingers down on the barrel, but other than that, it works great!
