- it's colorful and beautiful!!
- 24 hour time option! woo!
- temperature can be in celsius (go metric!).
- day, date and time is handy
- several alarm chimes. most of them are annoying tunes. the others are very basic beeping sounds.
- the clock is a little smaller than i expected it to be.

complaints:
------------------
the product description is a bit confusing. it says

*Powered by 4.5V AC adapter or AAA batteries. (not included)
*LED power by 4 x AAA batteries (not included)
*LCD screen powered by 2 x AG13 batteries (included).

to clarify, the 2 x AG13 batteries power the actual clock including the lcd screen. you can power the led light with either a power adapter or four aaa batteries. the power adapter will not power the clock itself. some clocks are powered by an adapter and have batteries as a backup, but this is not the case for this clock as i expected. the lcd screen and clock are powered completely independently from the led light inside.
------------------
there is a switch on the bottom of the clock that has three modes: "demo", "off" and "on". "demo" will keep the LED light on and disables the alarm off. "off" keeps the alarm and the LED off. "on" enables the alarm and keeps the LED on. if the switch is set to "off" then you can hit the top of the clock and the led will light up for a few seconds and then fade. you cannot turn the LED light off while the alarm is set, which may be a problem if the light will keep you awake while you are trying to sleep. the led is on a color wheel and the color constantly changes -- you cannot choose a color for it to stay at. it is so beautiful though. whenever i feel sad i just look at the clock and say "hi cubis!" (i named my clock "cubis") and i feel better again.
------------------
every time you hit a button on the bottom of the clock it makes a beep. this is inconvenient because i cannot set my alarm when my roommate is sleeping unless i take it out of the room. there is no way to disable this sound.
------------------
i put in 4 aaa batteries and left the switch on demo. the led drained the batteries in about 100 hours (about 4 days). if you set the alarm every day before you sleep and you sleep for 8 hours, the batteries will die in 12 days. luckily the alarm is powered separately by the ag13 batteries.
------------------
the manual is this one-page slip of paper and the directions were obviously translated from another language. the directions are only mildly helpful and do not tell you everything you need to know, so you'll have to experiment a little.

I bought this clock for my daughter who is 7. She loved it. It is lit internally and changes to 7 different colors. Because it glows, I thought we would be able to use it as a nightlight/clock combo, but the color changes are too frequent and when it turned to red it kind of freaked her out. It's way to distracting for her to sleep with. But that turned out not to be a problem because after a week of use the light stopped working. Now it's just a clock.
It works great as a clock.

This item is listed on amazon.com at least 9 times, my review applies to all 9 listings. The clock arrived with button batteries included, which was really helpful. There was no power adapter/cord included as the description said would be. I charged and installed 4 AAA batteries and put the switch to on/demo to get the colorful light show. Nothing. I'm going to try regular AAA batteries and will update my review if needed, but don't buy this thing if you want the light show. One good thing: this clock is all plastic, so it's okay to put in a kid's room where stuff tends to get knocked off the high dresser.

I consider this a pretty cool purchase for something that looks pretty cheap. It may look like a rubber silicone clock on the pic, but this thing is only made of milky white plastic. But what may look underwhelming from the outside is offset by its coolness factor. It has color changing LED display which is amplified multiple times in the dark. Even my wife who seldom side with me on stuff I buy likes it. Inexpensive too for under five bucks.

It requires two AG13 button batteries (included) for the time/clock, and 4 four AAAs batteries for the LEDs (not included). It is good to have two set of batteries, otherwise if the LED loses its batteries, the clock will still be on time.

The LEDs has the following three settings: Demo, always on, and off. I put it on off not only to preserve the batteries, but you don't actually need the lights to be on all the time since all you have to do is tap the clock and it will do a cycle of color display for a few seconds, enough for you to see the time in total darkness. If you want it to do a show, you can switch it on and it will run continuously until you decide to turn the LEDs off.

Setting the clock is very easy, no need to read the 2-page manual. The only thing that is not obvious is how to switch the temp unit from Centigrade to Fahrenheit - you need to press the down arrow for a few seconds. It has alarm too, which sounds annoyingly enough to wake you up.

The clock is set, but I can't get the alarm to work, nor the LED lights to come on. It only cost $1. I guess that should have been a clue!

I'll start by saying that the colors are nice and bright and that this clock works really well, when it is lit. It does loose about a minute a week but that isn't a huge deal for a 4-5 dollar clock.

The downside is that the display is only backlit when the whole cube is lit. So if you want to be able to see the time at night, say when you're about to go to sleep, you would need the cube to be lit which can be very distracting. It's more of a novelty than anything, but for the price it's not much of a gamble.

This item is junk! I guess I should have known with the price. It does not come with the plug in and it will not read the year 2012. Don't waste your money!

Bought these for my kids and while they were interesting at first, they didn't last more than two weeks. Besides, the alarm sound level is too low to wake anyone up, so I wouldn't use this as the primary alarm. However, it's beeping will annoy you if the kids forget to turn it off before going to school.

Skip this item and go buy a real alarm clock that will last and has the real potential to wake you up.

Very cheaply made. Should have known better when
multiple power sources needed. If you want something
that glows this may be what you want. I tried many ways
to get the calendar to display, became frustrated and
threw it in the trash. Cut my loss and didn't even try
for a return.
