I just got this remote control a couple of weeks back, and so far I am pretty satisfied with it. The shipment was prompt and it arrived even faster than some of the Amazon's own products. I am using it with Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi. I chose it over some alternative products due to its compact size which comes in handy when lugging around a whole bunch of camera add-ons. I am also extremely happy with the incredibly competitive price. I only have a couple of problems with it:

1. The user-instruction sheet is not very written and its not entirely clear on a couple of crucial steps in the setup. It would have been more useful to have something that explains the setup in some detail with each one of the Canon products for which it's meant to be used.

2. The range of the remote is rather limited. I have not measured it exactly, but it seems that it doesn't work beyond 15 feet away.

Here is a simple set-up procedure that worked for me:

1. Turn on the camera.

2. Press the "Drive mode" menu button. This is the same button as the left arrow on my camera.

3. Toggle between different settings using the left and right arrows.

4. Make sure that the "Self-timer/Remote control" option is highlighted.

5. Press the set button.

6. You are ready to roll. Point the remote to the camera (from the front of the camera) and press either the upper "S" button (for immediate shooting) or the "2S" button (for 2 seconds delayed shooting) buttons.

From what I understand, the other buttons are meant to be used with Canon's point-and-shoot cameras. "S" is for shooting, and "W" and "T" are for zooming out/in. They will not work with Canon's DSLR cameras.

I purchased this item in advance for when I received my Canon T3i. It works great, but I have only used it for movie mode at this time. If your in movie mode, hitting the "s" button will take a picture, and the "2s" button will start and stop your video. This is a must have for anyone recording video of themselves for youtube and they do not have a second person behind the camera to operate it.

The Canon Rebel T3 doesn't have an IR sensor. It's a feature reserved for the more expensive T3i model. This remote does nothing for a T3, unfortunately.

I can only blame myself for not actually Googling it beforehand, but the other reviewer claiming it works for the T3 model must have meant "T3i" instead.

As far as the quality of the item goes, it's a cheap-looking thing, but it seems to work just fine (can see the IR beams through Live View on the camera).

Wish I could contribute more to the review of the product, but the only thing I can add is: T3 owners, we're stuck with wired remotes only.

I didn't expect much from this remote. It's so cheap I almost can't complain about it. I bought it for my Canon XTi and only the "S" and "2S" buttons work. The "S" button will autofocus and take the picture instantly. The "2S" button autofocuses and waits 2 seconds before taking the picture. I'm not sure about other cameras, but my Canon XTi must be put into the remote shooting mode or it will not work. It can be a pain sometimes when you forget this and have to walk back to the camera to put it in the correct mode. As it says in the description, it only works up to about 16ft with direct line of sight. I've found it really only works consistently from a maximum of 12ft dead in front of the camera.

This remote works with my T3i. Simple operation just put camera in remote mode and use. Need to have a line of sight to the front of the camera (expected). Only the S and 2S buttons work. Great value, would recommend this product.

This remote does what it says for a small price. It doesn't give you all the functions of the camera, but you can press a button and take a picture. For <$5 who could ask for anything more. I tossed this in my cart last minute, not expecting much, but it's amazing how much I actually use it. Definitely got my money's worth. Just don't expect it to utilize all the functions of the camera or to be able to use all the buttons.

I was quite surprised by this product. I had a Canon remote but I misplaced it and I needed another to take pictures. I saw the price of this one and decided to try it out, worked better than the Canon brand. It allowed me to take pictures immediately or wait 5 secs between pictures. I would recommend this to everyone.

Works perfectly - fantastic price - why pay more for a remote made by the camera manufacturer when this product works great for a fraction of the price? Note that you have to be standing in front of the camera for the remote to work, but that's because of where the infrared detector on the camera is located (i.e. same no matter whose remote you use). Also, I have a Canon XTi and you have to set it to "timer-mode" for the wireless remote to work. I also got a wired remote (made by the same company) which also works great.
