1.0 out of 5 stars paid for but NEVER recieved
I was extremely excited to be getting this deck but I was told they were unable to send it to me. But my card was never refunded. And now I am being asked to review this product that I paid for but never received for some unknown weird reason. I've let it go but this should probably be passed up.

4.0 out of 5 stars An amazingly beutiful deck., February 25, 2001
This review is from: Nefertari's Tarots (Cards)
The cards with gold background, black borders, and Egyptian style pictures in bright colours make this deck one of the most beutiful I've seen to date.

The cards are filled with Egyptian motifs, gods, and sacred animals - the Fool is accompanied by a cat, the Devil is a Crocodile, Death is Anubis, the Tower is an obelisk, and there are hieroglyophs all over the cards.

The cards have titles in 5 languages - English, Italian, French, German, and Spanish, and the deck is accompanied by a booklet written in English only. The booklet includes a 6 cards spread, and a traditional keywords list for each card.

The booklet says nothing about the art, and I have very little knowledge about ancient Egyptian culture, so I cant tell whether the art is just beutiful or has some depth and authenticity behind it (e.g. whether the hieroglyphs have meanings or whether the persons on the cards are taken from appropriate myths).

The cards show influences from the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, e.g. in the 5 of Wands and 6 of Swords cards, though Justice and Strength are ordered the traditional way, rather than Waite's way.

All in all, this is a very artistic & beutiful deck, though a bit expensive.

4.0 out of 5 stars Seeing is believing!, May 15, 2002

This deck definetly has that "wow" factor. The gold embossing as a background colour to all of the cards throughout this deck certainly makes it a deck to behold. There is gold everywhere. Even the box is gold...and I mean GOLD.

To be honest if this deck did not have the gold it would be nothing special.

The LWB that comes with it offers no insightful information that an experienced reader may already have. Sure it follows in the RW tradition, but if you do not know anything about Egyptology than I would recommend finding a book that offers information on Eygptian symbols as the LWB offers no guidance in this respect.

It truly is a beautiful set of cards. In comparison to other "gold" decks I have to say that the Nefertari's Tarot wins hands down in appearance. The gold foil background makes the images seem to jump out at the reader in almost 3 dimensional form. The artwork itself is rendered so that it appears slightly worn in places, I suppose to provide authenticity to the Eygptian artwork. The cards themselves are on flexible stock and are slightly longer than most decks, but not so much as to make shuffling difficult.

Of all the Eygptian decks on the market to date I have to recommend this one. If you have been a little shy in using an Egyptian deck, but would like to add one to your collection, this is the one to have. If you would like to have that "special" deck, then go for Nefertari's Tarot.

To be honest I usually prefer more abstract decks, but this deck is definetly one I am happy to own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure Gold..., August 13, 2002

This deck was given to me as gift...
The cards are exquistely beautiful with their metallic glow and shiney gold...........

The deck is quite sturdy, it can withstand a good shuffling, but i can't bare to shuffle it as i would a "normal deck"....

It's just too beautiful to be used like that..........

This is a great deck to have in your Tarot collection if you are a collector, or a fan of Ancient Egypt.......

The booklette that came with it is not of much help, but then again, "*most* of the little booklette's aren't. Very few are.....

If someone would not have purchased this deck for me, i would have definately bought it on my own!

5.0 out of 5 stars A thing of beauty, August 17, 2006

This deck is an opulent thing of beauty. I treasure mine and love handling them. The meanings are not intuitive per the Rider Waite model so you've got to know your cards. Once you do, this one is a keeper.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous gold images, February 11, 2009
This review is from: Nefertari's Tarots (Cards)
This is by far the most beautiful deck I own with gorgeous gold images. The scenes are mesmeriszing. I do wish there was a book to explain the symbolism behind each card. But alas, I will have to rely on intuition and outside research.

5.0 out of 5 stars The cards are so beautiful, I'm scared to use them, February 4, 2006
This review is from: Nefertari's Tarots (Cards)
These cards are the most beautiful cards that I have ever seen. I am literally scared to use them because they are so beautiful. They are worth the money for the collector and have great pictures and the gold touches are great.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Oracle is Just a Key to the Door: A Beautiful Key, June 24, 2011

This review is from: Nefertari's Tarots (Cards)
An Oracle, which the Tarot is, is just a key to a door. Either you can see and read or you can't. Different decks resonate differently with different people. If you are an ardent student of Kemet (Ancient Egypt), then this deck could work very well for you. If you aren't a student of ancient Kemet, then you may need to do some study before this door can be unlocked for you to read well with this deck. This is a golden version of Lo Scarabeo's Egyptian Tarot. The symbolism is the same. As a reader who reads several clients a week, I have worn out two of this deck and to of Lo Scarabeo's Egyptian Tarot decks. Don't save your decks just to look at, use them and the spirits will speak more clearly to you every time you use them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tarots, April 23, 2011

Wonderful Item. I looked several places before I decided to buy this item here. As much as I love my spirituality I surely can not afford 50.00 for a set of Tarots. When this item was listed as opened I expected a little wear and tear on the cards but quite honely they were sparkling new. Very impressed with them. Great Item.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful gold cards for half the price, March 21, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nefertari's Tarots (Cards)
I bought these cards years ago for $64 and ended up returning them since the cost was too great. Now, Amazon.com has them for nearly half the price. These cards glow with gold foil and have intricate Egyptian themed designs for each of the Major and Minor Arcana. These are some of my favorite cards. I recommend!
