I CAN'T BELIEVE , December 23, 2005
HOW INCREDIBLE THIS ALBUM IS! This album is a welcome step in the right direction for this talented young band. Decapitated's second full-length album, "Nihility", suffered from Decapitated's sophomore slump -- many songs felt lifeless and somewhat monotone. On "The Negation" Decapitated follow-up "Nihility" with an undeniable vengeance. The tracks are more distinct from eachother, and every band member has improved upon previous albums -- especially the vocalist!
"The Fury" explodes out of the gate with machine-gun riffing and crazy double-basswork from their drummer. The album's best cut, "Three-Dimensional Defect" follows, where the band truly show off their incredible musicianship.
"Lying and Weak" is one of the best death metal tracks recorded in the last five years.
All other tracks are really good as well. Decapitated close this album with a killer cover of Deicide's "Lunatic of God's Creation" -- although Decapitated stay true to Deicide's original they manage to improve upon it at the same time.
These young guys seem to be finally coming into their own. The vocals have become much more expansive than their first two full-lengths. Their drummer has been great from the get-go -- it's actually pretty amazing that he hasn't lost a beat, with already many years of aggressive drumming under his belt.
"The Negation" is a better album than "Winds of Creation". Don't get me wrong -- I think "Winds of Creation" is an incredible piece of death metal -- but "The Negation"'s solos aren't as predictable, the vocals are much fuller, and the production is clearer as well.
The only thing that amazes me about this album more than the music on it is many people's apparent dislike for this album. I find it incredibly hard to believe any fan of death metal wouldn't give this album at least four stars, depending on personal taste within the genre. This album convinced me Decapitated is one of, if not the, best Death Metal bands in existence right now --- (yes, this DOES mean that I'm grouping them with such greats as Nile, Opeth, Deicide, and Skinless--for all those of you who know about them).
I can't say it enough, THIS ALBUM NEEDS TO BE PLAYING ON YOUR STEREO, IN YOUR CAR, IN YOUR DISCMAN, ON YOUR ipod...whatever it takes...if you're still reading this review, then I guarantee you'll love this album!

Return of Future Death Metal Kings!, April 10, 2004
Decapitated have returned with an album that will make any death metal fan lick their chops! After 2 excellent albums that helped bring the death metal scene back to life, these young polish lads have once again made an album that will be long remembered in the scene and extreme metal for that matter. Firstly, this album is a lot better than 'Nihility'. Whilst Nihility was technical, 'The Negation' is more fast paced, heavier, and more to the point. For me, Nihility did lack something, whilst there were some great tracks, there were also some boring ones. The Negation doesnt lack anything! The whole album is a masterpiece. Sauron has improved his vocals a lot! The guitar work from Vogg is also amazing as well. Vitek's drumming is also nothing short of insane, a much bigger improvement compared to Nihility where the drumming was very over produced. This is sure to be an album that any death metal fan will cherish. You wont be disappointed! The only thing that saddens me about this album is the fact that it only goes for 30 minutes. If only it were that extra 10 or 20 minutes longer! But it doesnt matter because it is still a great album. There are only a few bands left that are keeping the true death metal scene alive. Nile, Hate Eternal and Decapitated. And as of this point in time, I think its fair to say that Decapitated are leading the way! These guys are still in their early 20's and have made 3 amazing albums, if they can continue this over the next 10 years, they will arguably be the one of the best death metal and extreme metal bands ever!

Death Metal Domination, April 9, 2004
Decapitated dominates and this album is probably the best death metal album of the year so far. Blistering fast drums and intense and technical guitar work and one truly amazing death metal vocalist makes for a killer album. This album is blistering fast moving along sometimes at paces that are unthinkable. Through it all, it is this band's musicianship that puts them above a lot of the competition. Everyone in this band is in their early 20's but even at their young age they are probably one of the best newer death metal bands out there. Other great bands from Poland are Vader and Behemoth.
