This dvd is loaded with fan service... cleavage abounds as Negi interacts with his students in this hilarious addition to the Negima!? series... much more entertaining that the first season of the series.

Though this is only a 2 episode OVA, it is far superior to the original negima anime, in the animation department. It is done by the animation studio SHAFT, which really makes this OVA look great, beautiful, and caters a bit more to those who enjoy fan service, and they do it well. Its definitely awesome if you already like the Negima manga or anime.

This collection features the spring and summer specials. Anyone who reads the mangas will recognize the first episode because it animates the time Negi and Asuna have their big fight there where she won't forgive him. Of course a few things are added to it as well since it is using the animation from the second series, like a chupacabra hunt and skydiving. The second episode was something completely new to me, where Nodoka and Negi are stuck together by a red thread and they have to make it through the day. Both episodes a pretty good I'd say, with some great scenes featuring Zazie being awesome, though these episodes rely heavily on the fan service.

Comes in a standard 15mm dvd case, trailers, and the audio plays in stereo. It has both the japanese and english dubs, but I wouldn't recommend anyone to watch in the english dub because in my opinion, it is pretty bad.

When I heard Funimation was dubbing these OVAs and the second Negima series, I was, to put it mildly, thrilled. I loved them in Japanese and I like the vast majority of the original dub cast. To be perfectly frank, I love Negima in general.

First, the bad parts. This DVD contains two regular-length episodes. They're enjoyable if a bit shallow but there are still just two of them and a lot of both are eye-catches. How many are there? Each of the thirty-one girls is given a very brief bio. Some are doubled or tripled up but thats still quite a few.

Now, the good. Both episodes are pretty entertaining and the casts in both languages perform quite well, especially the ones who perform more than one part. One of the big surprises was Zazie Rainyday, the nearly mute acrobat-clown. In the first series, she spoke only twice and once was only one line while the other was a short 'next episode' segment. This version has her much more talkative. But the surprise was in the voice. In Negima!, her voice was a little but cutesy for her, but Carrie Savage did her right this time.

Overall, these OVAs are mostly effective as a teaser for the full series. It shows you enough of the new style and new casts to intrigue you but doesn't get into where the full series really shines, passive scenery comedy and magical combat.

Should you buy it? Maybe not for $17, unless you specifically want to support Funimation which is definitely a worthwhile cause. It is just two episodes, after all. But since you can find it for practically free used, absolutely yes you should. Its funny, very well made and...and its cool! Though I would go with the full series over these OVAs. Its far better in pretty much every way.

Let me start off by saying that I love the "Second Season" of Negima.

This, however, contrasts that in one aspect...fan service. While the Second Season wasn't about fan service & focused more on the comedy aspect, this focused a little more towards the fan service BUT it was equally focused on the comedy as well. All in all: good buy. Funny. No nudity. Swimsuits galore. Not for kids. Enjoy

I got this based on being the same creator as love hina I was curious,the story starts out as a young wizard who is skilled beyond his age that takes a job as a college professor and how he must deal with the every day being picked onr for his age and height.its heart warming and touching.Negimal takes on a rowdy class in the end he is loved and adored by all he shows heart and do anything to help his students in their every day life yes it can get kinda perverted with the actions of the charaters but its funny entertaining and sweet.How negimal takes the good and bad and truly amazing to his students this is worth buying I recomend the complete seris tho I enjoy watching this alot its up there with love hina this is I think better or same level as the other seris

First, I got this before I saw Negima!? but after seeing Negima!. Try not to make the same mistake. ;p This is only two extra episodes essentially, made as spring/summer specials. They stand alone well, but I'm not sure the price was right... at $10-12 they would be worth it without a doubt. Watch the second series (Negima!?) first, characterizations change somewhat from the first series.

This is a great addition to negima. unfortunatly only 2 ep long. alot more fanservice than the original anime.

OK folks, big diehard fans of Negima like myself were expecting big things from the OVAs and not like the DBZ movies were its in an alternate universe from the show but thats exactly what we get. First off its short, REAL short. You could have stretched both into 3 episode OVAs on 2-discs making the experience more enjoyable. Instead we have every character smashed in for cameos with no partciular roles except for the ones we're accustomed to: Negi, Asuna, Ayaka, Konoka, Setsuna, Yue and Nodoka. That's right only 7 out of 31 characters were actually used properly. The biggest problem is the 2 episodes clearly took turns bashing and favoring both Asuna and Nodoka which is fine for some but for me it was a wasted opportunity to progress the relationships with some of the characters, finalize a romance with Negi and Asuna/Nodoka or bridge a gap into the second season. If you like more of the same go buy it, but for others go watch on YouTube but not a recommended purchase.
