About the Author

Herb cohen is the author of You Can Negotiate Anything, the book that has sold over 1.4 million copies and was on the New York Times Bestseller list for over 9 months. For more than three decades, Cohen has been a practicing negotiator, intimately involved with several of the most highly publicized negotiating dramas including the Iranian Hostage Crisis, the skyjacking of TWA Flight 847 and the Achille Lauro terrorist incident. Besides his serving as an advisor to two US presidents, acting as a consultant to hundreds of corporations, entrepreneurs and governmental agencies, cohen has helped individuals take on and prevail over corporate giants such as General Motors and Metropolitan Life. Now known as "the guy the pros go to" for help in negotiating crisis, business, and other important strategy, Cohen brings his success to you on four tapes.

From AudioFile

[Editor's Note: The following is a combined review with ARTFUL NEGOTIATION IN A GLOBAL ECONOMY, NEW PERSPECTIVES ON NEGOTIATING, and THE WIN-WIN NEGOTIATING STRATEGY.]--Professional negotiator Herb Cohen sees the whole world as a negotiating table and has an impressive list of accomplishments in bringing people together. He also has a great sense of humor, which he displays to advantage in these audios. He illustrates his practical advice about getting what you want with personal stories told in a heavy New York accent. While his message is serious--he describes the art of compromise as giving people choices rather than competing with them--he ruminates humorously on daily life, and his apt imitations of Ronald Reagan, his wife, Italian art dealers, and the service in Chinese restaurants are simply hilarious. We're all negotiating all the time, says Cohen. Listen to these books and you'll never look at life the same way again. If we are able to master negotiating techniques our salary, relationships, and the prices we pay for everything change. I only wish this book were longer!
