Battle of wills from the start, September 16, 2006
This review is from: A Negotiated Surrender (Paperback)
Slade York and Calla Nevin have just come from the negotiating table where they've hammered out the acquisition of the company she works for, and it was an even fight to the end. Sure, Calla says that she was out of her depths, but she managed to keep it hidden that the owner was desparate to sell.
Now she's ready to walk away but Slade uses one last maneuver to corner her into working for him for the next few months. This time the battle isn't over business, but over her body and soul.
This might be a difficult story for someone who doesn't want to read about conflict. Both Slade and Calla issue ultimatums, insult each other and stage dramatic scenes. They also spend more relaxed intimate time together. All in all, they're a good match.
