Many of the tracks on this album were written and performed by the Carter Family with tradionals making up the bulk of the remainder. Ms. Fridley breathes new life into these wonderful songs with a clean, passionate, and traditional singing style and skilled acoustic instrumentation. Listening to this album is like listening to an early recording without all the pops and distortions. This record is truly a respectful tribute to American country/folk music.
