5.0 out of 5 stars orchestral joyfulness......., July 1, 2008

This review is from: My Neighbor Totoro Orchestra (Audio CD)
This is probably the most played record we have, unlike the film the main musical pieces are realised to their full potential on this recording and the music sounds fuller and richer, making this version more entertaining to listen too, however the Cat Bus music is very similar to how it sounds in the film but the sequence of music which depicts Totoro and the children helping the trees to grow has a wondrous, joyful, epic feel which could have been used in the film if it had been released today. This is a story record and the first handful of tracks are presented much like a radio play for the children, in Japanese but the music is then presented without the cast voices so you can enjoy the music in it's own right. You will enjoy this version as it is as grand as the soundtrack!
