4.0 out of 5 stars bits for most medium size things, no driver, it's good enough
This bit box has standard hex socket bits, that fits most adaptable screw drivers. It says it has a driver, but I have no idea how to use it.

It has the bits for:
Nintendo products, (3 prong Phillips)
Xbox (torx 10 and 20)

It does not have the bits for:
cell phones, ( torx 6) (torq is not torx and 6mm is not a "6")...

I needed a single bit, a security Torx bit but I ordered this 100-piece security bit set. What a mistake! The center holes for the Torx security bits are drilled off-center, the edges of the Torx bits aren't indented enough. In fact, they look more like hex bits than Torx. Because these are bits, they need to be attached to a wider handle. They won't go into narrow holes! You should examine the depth, and width of the screw holes before purchasing this, or you might be disappointed. That said, the bits were of sufficient depth to fit into my Nintendo DS. It did what I bought it for, but it's not quite as versatile as I thought it would be. 4 stars

The 100pc name is a bit unfortunate, as there are not 100 different pieces. There are a lot of triplicates of standard Phillips bits, and some Phillips like one that have 4 extra points are duplicated in excess. So, it's more like a 90 piece set.. It has the hardware required to attach bits to a drill motor. I could not figure out how to get the "wing nut" driver to work. You will need your own bit taking screw driver handle. 3 stars on name and description of the unit.

The case is sufficient for normal storage. A few bits were loose on arrival, but I haven't had any of them fall out with normal handling, everything is well organized, and it is compact. so I give the case 5 stars.

Cost, after 30 minutes of searching on the Internet, this was the cheapest way for me to get the bulk of the bits that I needed. 5 stars.

Overall score, is just over 4 stars. I'm glad I bought it, I might have been able to do better, but it just ain't worth the trouble. I don't plan to use these often. This filled my need, and was priced right.

The center holes for the Torx security bits are drilled off-center, the edges of the Torx bits aren't indented enough. In fact, they look more like hex bits than Torx. In case I was crazy, I compared these bits to a set I bought from Home Depot (not security bits, regular Torx) and there was no comparison. The Home Depot set was crisp, sharp metal, well machined. This is cheap, soft metal, poorly machined. Don't waste your money. I'd get a refund except the return shipment costs more than I'd get.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent for the price, January 27, 2009

Bought these bits to work on my xbox controller, but realized afterwards that the recess of some of the screws was too deep for the short bit to get into. That's not this sets fault though, just sort of a characteristic of hex ended bits.

That being said, this kit comes with a large variety of bits, but isn't the highest quality. On some of the larger bits this becomes obvious - the hole drilled through the top of my large security torx bits is not very centered at all, and I doubt it would work on the screw it's intended for. Other bits have bent shafts to them.

For the price, however, still not a bad purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars security bits are not in every store you shop, July 25, 2008
This review is from: Neiko 100-Piece Security Bits Set with Hard Storage Case (Misc.)
I looked for these bits in all the stores where I live and no one carries them. Thanks to Amazon I had what I was looking for in a matter of a couple days. The bits worked just fine for the job I was on. Thanks again.

3.0 out of 5 stars The bits seem alright, but don't expect much from the case, March 20, 2011

The bits are ok based on the few I've used, however the case is horrible. You need to keep a foam pad inside to keep the bits from falling all over the place, yet the bits impale the foam which means you have to carefully poke them back out when you open it. Very annoying, but I have been able to live with it.

This kit is NOT helpful for working on the Nintndo DS. The Triwing way to big to fit. I purchased this kit for working on the DS after reading a review. It is a nice kit for the price. When working on most small consumer electronics, it is best not to use these types of bits. They are to thick and don't fit into the recessed holes in the plastic parts.

4.0 out of 5 stars Durable Bits for the Price, Case Doesn't Hold Bits Well, November 9, 2009

This review is from: Neiko 100-Piece Security Bits Set with Hard Storage Case (Misc.)
A lot of bits that went well with my mini-ratchet. The only downside is that the case won't hold the bits tightly. If you don't open it up the right way you'll have bits all over the place. I've gotten so much use out of the 5/32 and 4mm bits since most ready-to-assemble furniture that uses Allen wrenches are in those size. A little cautiousness and some cardboard for the foam and it seems to hold the bits in just fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent Bit Set, Great Customer Service, January 16, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Neiko 100-Piece Security Bits Set with Hard Storage Case (Misc.)
I purchased this bit set after looking at others and found that at the time it was the best deal when shipping was factored in. The set arrived and after I put all the pieces into their spots, I found that I was missing the 2mm security hex bit. I sent an email to Super Deal expecting that I would not be able to get a new bit and that I would have to try and return the whole set. This was not the case at all.

The next day I got an email and a phone message that they wanted to send me a new bit but they wanted to know exactly which one it was by telling them where in the case it was located. I sent an email back with a description and a photo. I then got a reply email saying that my missing bit was on the way and they gave me a tracking number for the package. It arrived in about 2 days.

Maybe other people have not had this experience with Super Deal, but in my case their service was exceptional.

Now for the review of the bit set. Overall, the bits are pretty well made. There are a few details that I feel make them earn a 4 star rating. Some of the holes are not quite in the center of some of the security bits. Also, some of the Torx bits are a little rounded on the end rather than being completely flat.

In my option, these details are minor and I expected minor imperfections in the build quality of the bits for the price. I don't use a lot of these bits on a daily basis, so I didn't need them to be top notch. Overall, the package can't be beat for occasional use screw driver bit assortment.

for under $20 this is an excellent deal. buying these separately would take forever and a lot more money.
note: this doesn't have the inverse torx bit that is required for working on gameboy games. it does have the tri-wing for working on some wii components. it also has most other types/sizes you're likely to come across. honestly, if you're a handyperson you can't go wrong with this product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Budget parts for the builder, December 29, 2007
When i first opened this i noticed the organization. All the sockets for the bits are labeled. I received the package in 5 days, normal, and nothing was out of place and all the bits were perfectly machined, no problems. All the bits are great for taking stuff apart and as long as care is taken they will stay in their little holes. '

Cons: The case is a bit cheap and the whole chuck assembly thing is a pain in the butt. Luckily after i constructed it i found out it was next to useless and luckily had a multi-use screwdriver with the right sized chuck. (if you don't have one it makes the entire set usable only with a drill which isn't practical for the jobs these are meant for)

It also contains quite a few phillip heads of all sizes and flatheads of all sizes.

A good buy for the money.
