Not much too it; just a strap with 2 hooks. 10,000 lbs is more than strong enough to extract any vehicle (on a mostly level surface) and smaller and mid-sized cars out of ditches, etc.

Go with a 20,000 lb strap for SUV's and trucks.

Go with a 30,000 lb strap for stumps!

The package says that the working load for towing should not exceed 1/3 of the rated capacity. This implies that the car weight (including a driver and luggage) should not exceed 3,333 Lbs. In my case this should be adequate because my car is under 3,000 Lbs. and I generally travel without a heavy vehicle load. However, if you drive a heavier car or frequently travel with heavy loads you should consider purchasing a tow strap that has a higher capacity.

This tow strap looks very well made, so I am satisfied with my purchase. I can't be certain about the quality because I haven't towed anything with it. I bought it to keep in my car for emergencies. I am writing this review because I was surprised to discover that under my circumstances I need the entire capacity of this tow strap.

I have pulled several teenagers out of the ditch without any problem. My last one broke (nylon rope) so I am pleased with the strap. Buy one for your teenager so I don't have to use mine.

We have a long driveway that sometimes gets muddy and cars get stuck. We used to have to call a tow truck to pulls us out but that got expensive. I tried a steel cable but that snapped almost immediately.

This strap has enough stretch to absorb the initial pulling impact although you still have to take it easy. It suits our purposes fine.

I've been carrying this in my car for a few months now, and just had the chance to use it a few weeks ago. Helped pull a neighbor (who doesn't have snow tires) out of a snowbank, and the tow strap worked flawlessly. It was easy to attach both hooks to tow points on a Honda Accord, and loop the strap itself around a truck's trailer hitch. The strap gives/flexes JUST enough that it's not a sharp jolt after the slack is taken up, but not so much that it feels squishy or unreliable in use.
It doesn't weigh much, and is easy to store and retrieve (I prefer to keep it in a plastic bag so it doesn't unwind). Not heavy, awkward, and noisy like a chain. The strap itself, stitching, and hooks all feel durable and well made; I have no doubt this will last a long time, unless you are really hard on it.
Hopefully this won't be something you need often, but when you do, you'll be very glad you have it!

Seems to be a good strap for the money despite the smallish hook size. I used it to slide a jeep around that was wedged against a tree and it held.

I haven't gotten to use the tow strap yet. I bought it as a precaution, because I got stuck in the snow last year and no one had a strap to pull me out with. I keep it on my car now so that won't happen again. It's seems to be of pretty good quality and as advertised online.

Got this for my sedan. It has enough length and towing capacity to deal with any towing situation should the need arise. My only complaint is that it isn't glow in the dark.

Used this tow strap for dragging logs out on my property. 20ft length was great. Strap is well made, strong, and easy to work with. Hooks with clasp are of good quality too.

Solid product as depicted. Webbing and stitching were done well. Hooks are possibly less flexible for connecting to different tow points but strong nonetheless and exactly as shown.
