I bought a couple of these to put on my pellet grill. They are inexpensive and just the right size if you fold them.
They hold in the heat really well and help cut down on pellet consumption.

I purchased this welding blanket, and after a couple of months, tried it for the first time since I had a plumbing issue at home, and needed to do some soldering. What a disappointment !

I needed to solder some copper pipe underneath my kitchen sink (I wanted to add a ball shut off valve). I laid the blanket carefully in place beneath the sink. As soon as the flame started, after about 5 seconds, I noticed that the welding blanket was turning red. So I turned the flame off and removed the blanket to check it. To my surprise, there was a 4 inch hole in the blanket where the flame had made contact, after only about 5 seconds !

Please don't waste your money on this product. It does not work.

I just installed new deck railings and wondered how I was going to protect the section behind the propane BBQ grill. Being a firefighter, I know that there are only so many safe places to grill on a deck attached to a house. This welding blanket will protect the composite deck rail by being draped over the rail, behind the grill. It was reasonably priced and the perfect size!

I couldn't believe how bad this thing was! First time I used it, I was welding an exhaust under a car with a little wire feed welder. When I got done and pulled the blanket out it was full of holes! Every little spark burned right through this thing, I mean every single one, it looked like I shot it with a shotgun. For the next few days I scratched my back because my skin was full of insulation like fibers. You would have to pay ME to ever use this thing again!

I love this welding blanket. No more weld spatter hitting the windshield or paint. This is a must for covering anything you don't want destroyed.

Not robust enough for plasma cutting. Burned right through on the slag.

I returned it no problem. Some more words for review.

I used this near, not in mind you but NEAR open flame from a normal fire. It melted several holes in it. The areas around the holes are all flaky and brittle. I suppose it isn't flammable from the stand point that it didn't actually catch on fire, but the holes melted in it are as large or larger than my hand. I wouldn't dare use it with my welder where the temperatures are much higher.

I use it to insulate my smoker. It works quite well. Only complaint-when you remove it from packaging prepare to be inundated with small shards of fiberglass.
