I maintain my own motorcycles and found this torque wrench to be quite useful. I don't think it is meant for daily professional use but it should do just fine for the purposes of the home mechanic.

I needed a low torque driver for small parts. I use this in the 8-20nm range all the time and it's served me well. This tool isn't meant to be tightening lug nuts as the maximum torque setting is only 250 *INCH* lbs. The dial is handily marked in both Inch pounds and NM.

This review is from: Neiko Professional Grade 3/8-Inch Drive 40-250 inch-lb Automatic Torque Wrench (Misc.)
Holy cow, this torque wrench appears not to work at all. I tried all range of settings and couldn't get it to ratchet - it would apply full torque at any setting. Miserable. Only good for hammering nails.
Update: I went into the drawer and retrieved this wrench to see if there is some sort of lock on it. I wanted to make sure I was not overlooking something. I did not see any locking mechanism on it. I turned it to the lowest setting - 40 inch lbs and put on a socket and applied it to the lug nut on the wheel of my car. Applying strong force (i.e. 200+ ft lbs), the ratcheting never kicked in. I am conviced this particular wrench did not work at all and threw it out. I bought an old-style non-ratching type which has been good enough.
