Together with his recent biography, one is able to come close to understanding this truly amazing individual. Loved the pictures and artifacts, along with thoughts from many of Neil's contemporaries. Definitely more linear approach than Waging Heavy Peace.

My husband is a huge Neil Young fan but this was one book he did not already have in his collection. Gave it to him for his bday and he loves it. Started reading it right away and is really enjoying the format, photos, etc. I'm very pleased with the purchase and so is he!

I bought this for my boyfriend, who has been a Neil Young fan since his teens. His exact words were "Wow, you hit a home run with this book!" Very interesting and the pics are great!

Good compilation of pictures, but the story arc is hard to follow as it is interrupted every few pages by sidebar stories. If all you expect is a decent picture book, this is great. Nothing revelatory, the text reads like a Wikipedia article. In fact, some of the sidebar stories were lifted right off of Rolling Stone, etc. Unless you're completely unfamiliar with Neil Young, this book is nothing more than bathroom reading. If you're a devout fan or just have a passing interest, you will get nothing out of anecdotes about Neil Young and Lynyrd Skynyrd or how he joined CSN....Didn't cost much though! and I still read it in the b-room. Three stars.

The person that this was purchased for was overly impressed ... a long time fan of Mr. Young, he thought he knew just about everything. There are a lot of pictures as well as good info.
