Scary,

I am 75 years old and my pastime is reading. I go through four or five novels per week; most of these I have forgotten by the next month. However when I saw this book advertised I instantly remembered it although I read it when it first came out, well over 25 years ago. It was absolutely the most terrifying book I have ever encountered. If you want a good scare for a winter's night this book is it.

I'm so glad I was able to find another copy of this book. It is absolutely my favorite book - I think of it everytime I hear of an earthquake and everytime I hear of a tornado (read the book for the references!). It is also the reason I no longer lend books to friends - the best ones never get returned!
