Ths is a must for people who want to venture out alone! No GPS maps so qstick to the wide lines!

Very good detail and contour on this well-made map. I travelled in Taiwan for more than 2 weeks and at one point the family I was staying with needed to consult MY map during a road trip. Good physical relief maps are far superior to the flat, cartoon-like color maps.......especially if you're either driving or planning a hike. Nice to know where the land will be flat or steep.

The inset maps for the cities of Taipei, Tainan and Kaoshiung are fairly detailed and were very helpful. Overall a good map and better than many I found while shopping around. Be alert: Most ALL of the maps you will actually find for sale in stores WITHIN Taiwan -- especially outside the capital -- will not be written in English. Don't wait, thinking you'll just buy one on the street or in a bookstore after arrival.

This is a beautifully detailed and presumably accurate map. One of the features that would make this great for roughin' it through Taiwan is it's compact size: it folds out in such a way that the north end of the country is on one side and the southern end is on the other. I, however, wanted a map to put up on my wall and use as fodder for day dreaming about a possible back-packing adventure. In that scenario, I was picturing of viewing a map of the entire country not just parts. But I guess this is even more incentive to save up to buy a plane ticket so that I don't waste my $12+S&H.
