From School Library Journal
Grade 4-6-- Nellie Bly, Rachel Carson, and Amelia Earhart, three women pioneers in their respective fields of journalism, environmental science, and aviation are portrayed in these informative biographies. Although each book is authored separately, a similar style of writing and matter-of-fact reporting is maintained. Events and circumstances are plainly explained such as World War I and the Depression. Emphasis is placed on the women's interests and concerns that led up to their achievements rather than on their childhoods, upbringing, and family lives. Family and period photographs accompany all three texts. Good lists for further reading are also appended.
