I find the type in this medium size Bible to be very readable. There is a brief concordance in the back, some nice maps and references in the center column all as described. The gold "gilt" on the edges isn't the high quality shiny gold. However for the price this is a very nice, readable Bible. The words of Christ are in a very readable red. This isn't a "STUDY" bible, nor a devotional Bible. It is good as a reading Bible and a reasonable size to carry to church or classes. I am glad it is so handsome and readable.

I love the print type used for this Bible. It is so easy on my eyes (I have been having a very hard time reading the Bible because the print in most is now hard to read) this print helps me want to read the Bible.Someone mentioned that the leather is really plastic - it looks like leather to me, but it does not have a 'rich' leather feeling. It isn't a 'nice' or 'fancy' looking Bible, but a step up from the plain paperback. I love this Bible, easy to handle and easy on the eyes. My one frustration, and this is with all center-column NKJV Bibles is that they combine Footnotes and References together and they don't even try to separate them at all (they are squished together); the center column can be almost empty yet still the 2 are run together. Every other reference Bible I have from other versions that are center column, have the references only in the center and the footnotes at the bottom - which makes it much easier to look up cross-references. I have looked at many NKJV Bibles and this unfortunate style is present in all of them. The end of verse ones don't have this problem, but also don't have as many cross-references as the center column ones.

Amazon claims it is a Giant 14 point type but it is only Large print 13 point type as it clearly is stated on the Nelson box it comes in. Sellers are what sellers are but I really expect better from a product sold by Amazon.
