I committed to Nelson's previous quick connect system and now need to add to that. Apparently they discontinued the style I bought. That's fine, but the design of the new ones are the opposite of the previous model.

Mine have a female threading opposite the male quick connect. The new models has male threads opposite the male quick connect. I called Nelson to ask what was going on and the answer was pretty much, "Oh well."

I'll buy from one of their competitors instead and suggest you do the same if you want to deal with a company that values their customers.

On sale and happened to need it (I really don't garden much). Screwed it on, popped it in, stepped back expecting water to come out and spray all over me.

Not a drip. Seemed kinda flimsy, but pops on and off with no effort or mess.

Still very pleased with this brand of hose products.

I've been using these for a couple of years, my dad for many more (he's using an older style, I believe...same brand). Quick-connectors in general are a must-have for any home owner who uses a hose with any amount of frequency. Further, a shut-off valve at the end of the hose makes a huge difference. I can go from nozzle-to-sprinkler in no time at all, without having to go to the faucet to turn things off. Additionally, I can adjust the volume of my sprinkler at the sprinkler, another convenience that I love.

Brass connectors are probably preferable to these, but they get the job done for the price. I don't do a lot of "heavy duty" work, just the typical plant-watering and washing things off, that sort of thing. I imagine if you are using your hose daily and you need something heavy duty, you'd want to go with brass. But if you don't need to spend the extra money for the heavy-duty, this will do just fine. It's a quite a bit cheaper to go this route than brass, so this has a definitive purpose in the market.

The bottom line: I'd recommend these to the kind of person who needs a light-to-medium duty quick-connect solution.

my quick connector broke on my pressure washer and this product fit right in and works perfect.

I cut and core concrete professionally. Alot of our core drills and some of our saws come with quick disconnectors installed. After losing and breaking the female ends I came across this item. It's great cause instead of using a whater shut off valve to control water flow then having a quick disconect on also , I have it all in one. Also helps with my walk behind saws. Undoing a water hose all day to load and unload a saw onto a trailer gets annoying. Now I just pop it off and save time.
