In this collection of reissued DeMille abridgments, each narrator captures the protagonists, making it appear as if multiple narrators tell each story instead of one. David Dukes's rendition of pirates, buried treasure, and murder at Plum Island is accomplished with a calm, even delivery in an authoritative tone. Jim Naughton's manipulation of the KGB's American and Russian accents as well as the accents of the prisoners held captive at the Charm School is ingenious. Brian Murray ends with the story of retired Commander Ben Tyson, who is charged with murder 17 years after the men under his command committed atrocities. A Nelson DeMille interview ends each story. My favorite author puts together a great trio of books. My all time favorite Charm School brings you back to the cold war days wondering how this hasn't been made into a movie. Plum Island is more current, but one of the more exciting and thrilling efforts of DeMille. Lastly Word of Honor is in the middle (chronologically) and is one of his "sleeper" titles that you will truly enjoy.

This is a great value at this price.

I'm a great fan of DeMille and you can always count on him to get your $worth of entertainment. The books in this collection are just not his best so I didn't feel cheated in buying the abridged version. The narrator was excellent, the stories are entertaining and in the shortened version, they don't drone on too long for you to loose interest. If you are looking for a few hours of diversion while stuck in traffic or to keep you occupied until the sleeping pill kicks in - this is a good choice. bg

As an avid reader of Nelson DeMille and a big fan of his character "Det. John Chorie" I searched high and low for this title "Plum Island". After reading all of the other books withe "Det. Chorie", "PI" was the hardest one of all to finde (only available in a 3 story series). The story was entertaining (not great) and the narrarator was as far from a tough, gruff, battle tested NYPD Det.as one could get! He made the audio book verry hard to finish, and took away from the story.

If you like DeMille, i would rerad all of the other "Det. Chorie" books, befor you listen to this audio book, the other narrarators really put you inside these great cases!
