5.0 out of 5 stars Fits Harborfreight Connector, August 16, 2010

Fits like a glove on Harbor Freight brass quick hose connector.
Just pull out the old one with a needle nose plier and press in
the new one. Be careful though, the seal has different IN and OUT
sides, note the original orientation before removing.
FYI - the old seal lasted 5 yrs.

1.0 out of 5 stars Overpriced and useless., August 4, 2010

This review is from: Nelson Quick Connect Replacement Seals
I have used Nelson quick connect couplings around the house for at least 10 years. Over time, the connectors begin to drip, and it appears the problem is the rubber washers. The male connector fits into the female connector so that the rubber washer creates a seal.

For the old female connector, these washers do nothing. These are standard hose washers with a portion trimmed away toward the center. They can only be installed in two different ways, and both turn a few drips into a gush of leaking water. The old female connector is about 1 1/8 inches long. Newer Nelson female connectors are about 1/4 inch longer, so the male connector butts up against a metal ridge. So in the old quick connectors, these washers are about as bad as no washer at all. In the newer connectors, they're unnecessary.

This all comes at a price. Three washers worth pennies cost $2.50 -- and the shipping adds another $3.50.

My best guess is that these washers have been mislabeled, and are intended for totally different quick connectors. Rather than buy these washers, pay just over $10 for a set of the newer Nelson quick connectors. You'll be much better off.
