Wireless water control was ordered to provide easy access to an outdoor faucet hidden behind front bushes. The unit works as expected. But upon remote signal to close water flow the unit slams shut. This provides positive water closure,however it does so with gusto shuttering the water pipes in the house. THUS the 4 star rating.

My wife has MS. Remote Rain is a radio controlled valve - not a "timer" - which allows her to easily water her flower garden and potted plants. I also use it for washing the cars. Love it!

A wireless water valve is a great concept but this specific unit has a major distance limitation. I even called Nelson Support to find out if I was doing something wrong but they confirmed that on unobstructed line of sight you don't get more than 100' but it can get much lower if there is even the smaller obstacle between the transmitter and the receiver.
I have my faucet on the side of the house and just around the corner 20' away the remote does not work.

This is basically useless if you consider that most of the hoses are either 50' or 100'.

The other big issue is the remote NOT being waterproof (come on, what were you thinking?).

It would be nice if someone built a unit where the remote had a clip to attach it to the hose and also the main valve had an on/off button to control the valve at the faucet when you don't have the remote with you or when the batteries die.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like any other company makes anything similar.
