Product Description

When you're miles from the hum and buzz of city life, the last thing you want to disturb your deep sleep is a root or fistful of gravel. Forget your typical inch thick backcountry pad; the Astro is 2.5 inches tall and still weighs as little as 20 ounces. Lateral baffles makes the pad feel wider and smoother, and 75D polyester fabric resists puncture while keeping the weight down. Astro pads include a stuff sack, compression strap, and repair patches.

Pros:
-Because of either the thickness or the "insulation", it does seem warmer than Thermarest pads Ive used.
-Horizontal baffles cut down on "pool toy" feel.
-Miltary background doesn't like the orange.
-Dogs claws didn't puncture it.

Cons:
-Pilowtop (personally) seems only good for car camping. (not worth the backpack space)
-Can't ever seem to roll it up to original size.
-Doesnt fit mummy bags well
-Lightheadedness from blowing up.

Absolutely amazing.

Light weight comfort for the hiker. The pad is a bit small but when you have to carry it in your backpack size and weight is more important than carrying a queen sized bed. The pillowtop adds extra comfort and can be removed to save weight on the long haul trek.
Be aware that this is not self inflating and the Nemo Disco Pad Pump may be a option worth considering if you dont mind the extra weight.

IMPORTANT: Some rocket scientist at Nemo apparently decided that a repair kit was over the top for a top of the market product so you have to buy your own glue for the included repair patches.
Nemo recomends McNett Seam Grip Seam Sealer and Outdoor Repair Tube with Brush Applicator or McNett Aquaseal Urethane Repair Adhesive and Sealant Tube (.75-Ounce)
I'm just happy that i discovered this before i was standing in the middle of nowhere with a flat sleeping pad.

Happy camping!

Inflates easy and the comfort is great. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone interested in it. It is not the lightest option out there but if comfort is what you're looking for these products combined might just be worth the little extra weight.

Hands down most comfortable sleeping pad I have ever owned. The self inflating ones are kind of a joke, it really does not take long to inflate and I LOVE that is is modular, I almost always use it with the pillow top on however as it does not add that much weight or bulk. Its expensive but worth it for a great nights sleep on the trail.

I had bought the Nemo Astro Insulated w Pillowtop 1p earlier this year for a camping trip. Once I received it, I immediately began putting it to through it's paces. The pillow top is a light foam with "wholes" cut out through out. Not sure if they did this to save on cost or weight, but it was a bummer for me. Once fully inflated, the pad does provide insulation, but it is very stiff. To me, it actually felt like I was laying on the floor with a blanket in between (pillowtop). Thinking I over inflated it, I let out some air to meet my comfort level. Unfortunately, once some air is release, the pad is no longer stable. Laying on my side, since it is a 20 in pad, I found myself falling off as the air redistributed if I moved. If this product was priced around the 60-70 range, it would be worth it.. but 150?

Instead of buying this, look at REI brand Basecamp models. I have both the 2 and 3.5 thinkness models and they surpass the Nemo in all but one category (storage).
