Nemo Products Cosmo Air Sleeping Pad,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Nemo Equipment Cosmo Air Sleeping Pad (Sports)
I ordered 2 of them. Comfort in the bag is the most IMPORTANT to me on the trail. They arrived a day earlier than expected thanks AMAZON.COM :) I opened one and pumped it up. Tried pumping with my hand and then decided to use my foot like the instructions say. It inflated very quickly. I adjusted the air in the pad to my liking. OK this PAD is VERY comfortable and thick 3". I am a back and side sleeper. Fits really well. I can't believe how light the pad is. The size is larger 25" x 76" x 3".. Most pads are 20" x 72" x 1.5" if your lucky and a extremely small person. My wife is very small and she looks like she is laying on a bed when she is on it... She loves hers and is a VERY PICKY sleeper. I am 6'1" and 210 Lbs. Pretty big guy. So this is plenty big.. It comes with a cool little NEMO stuff sack. It deflates and folds up really easy. If I ever wear this out I will buy another I have tried the bright lime :) green pads..They are not even close to these NEMO PADS and I saved some money too. I highly recommend this pad. These pads will fit nice in my BLACK DIAMOND tent. They are more than I expected and NEMO products are top of the line. You have to try one of these.

I love this pad so much, I would almost be willing to rep for the company and try to get them into every hiking and camping store possible!!!!!!!
I was a little worried about purchasing this at first, considering I couldn't find a single review on it, but since I own the Nemo Fillo and love it I figured it would be a fairly safe bet. Man, I'm SO happy that I took the gamble! This air pad ROCKS!!! It's super comfortable, the horizontal air chambers keeps your shoulders and arms from falling into the crevasses (I sleep on my side), it blows up and deflates fast, it doesn't leak, IT HAS A BUILT IN FOOT PUMP!! What?!!?, comes with a carrying bag and a repair kit, it rolls up super small for backpacking (roughly 4" x 7") AND it's half the price of a Neoair, which I wasn't all that impressed by. Buy one! You'll love it!!!!

After a terrible night's sleep on a cheap queen-sized air mattress with my wife in our new tent, I headed to a specialty store (EMS) in search of a high quality sleeping pads. Upon a glowing recommendation of a saleswoman, I picked up one of the rather expensive Nemo Cosmo w/pillowtop to try. The integrated foot pump is genius, allowing rapid inflation to as firm as you could want, without getting dizzy from trying to blow into a tube. "Self-inflating" sounds nice until you have to wait for it, and it still doesn't get as firm as you might like. And I found the horizontal baffles of the Nemo Cosmo far more comfortable than the vertical baffles of some other air pads on display in the store --an immediate deal-breaker for the vertical baffle pads for me. The size is also nice, as I find the 20"W pads (like the Nemo Astro, and most others) too narrow; I've heard the 30-32"W pads like the 30" Therm-a-rest DreamTime XL are quite luxurious, but I haven't had the pleasure of trying one. As for comfort of the Cosmo Nemo (with pillowtop, as I haven't actually tried it without the comfy pillowtop), I was very pleased; I tested it in the house a few nights at first, and I never felt the floor --and I often sleep on my side. No apparent air leakage over several consecutive days, or perhaps even weeks, too! Now, the best part (for me) is that Nemo makes a double-wide pillowtop which can handily house a PAIR of the Cosmo air pads. So I ordered 2 more Cosmo pads from Amazon (planning for my son to use the single one I'd already acquired locally), along with a double-wide Cosmo pillowtop (from the only place I could find it this late in the fall season). When they all arrived, I knew I had made a good decision! I don't know of a better double-wide sleeping pad on the market. Fully inflating both pads, I didn't notice any gap whatsoever in the center between them, with the double-wide pillow-top on. Superb! And we'll be able to adjust the firmness of each side independently, which might prove useful to tailor comfort to each of us. Expensive, but well worth it (to me). I should note that we expect to just be car camping, so I can't comment on the packability of this sleeping system for backpackers. I know it's not the lightest pad available, but the fact that we/you have the option of leaving the pillowtop behind is a plus, as that almost halves the weight and bulk, I believe. And even with the pillowtop, the Cosmo Nemo is still about half the weight of other 4"H pads like the aforementioned Therm-a-rest DreamTime series, which I'm sure are total non-starters for backpackers. Finally, both the air pads and the pillowtop appear quite durable, so I have no worries about easily puncuring the pads, esp. with the pillowtop's extra protection.
