I always loved this book, while it never went into great detail -- meaning a hundred pages on each setting, it did broaden the Shadowrun Universe. As much as your want dozens of pages dedicated to some of these alternate setting locations, the authors did a great job of setting a tone for each city in the world of 2050 that was different from each other and the standard setting of Seattle 2050. In the game system the book is 20 years out of date, since it is set in Shadowrun 1st edition (2050 A.D.) and Shadowrun 4th Edition (SR4 -- the current version is set in 2070 A.D.). But that just gives you a base to work with as a gamemaster to grow. Their is an updated North America guide (Shadows of North America - set in the Shadowrun 3rd Edition time of 2060 A.D.) but it was a glossy overview of areas and not more of an indepth description of the heart and soul of many of the cities in the fractured United States.

This is a product that has enduring value over the many editions of the Shadowrun universe.
