I have used several other straps in the past and one thing about them I didn't like is that the hook did not close completely. The hook was open at one end and I was always afraid my sax would fall off. This strap is different. The hook has a clasp and you can be assured your sax is securely fastened to the strap and will not fall off. Also the comfort is great. I can play a long time and my neck doesnt get tired. This strap is the sturdiest I have used and the extra padding around the neck is so comfortable. The length of the strap is also very easy to adjust whereas it has been difficult to adjust the length of other straps. In my opinion, every sax player should own this strap. You wont be disappointed.

My 9-year old son is playing the sax and taking lessons in school. He is really excited about learning everything he can and being a part of the band. We had bought him a sax online and it came with a pretty nice strap to hold it. Well, though the strap was nice, the sax weighs a lot and pulls on his neck and back while he practicing and playing the instrument. This is a problem since my son would play for a while and it would become more and more painful over time.

We bought this strap, hoping it would relieve a little of the pain and help extend the time he could play and practice. I was shocked, the strap not only totally eliminated the stress and pain on his neck, it made the sax feel much much lighter and made it so my son didn't even notice there was any stress on his neck or back.

This is a great product and high quality design and construction. It would be worth buying for anyone that plays a sax, even if you are not a young boy, but for kids it is probably even more valuable. I think this Neotech strap is worth every penny and I would pay even more given it has solved the primary complaint my son had around practicing and playing. I strongly recommend this to anyone and everyone.

This is the gold standard of neck straps. It is durable, comfortable, washable (very important), and affordable. The neck strap is the easiest thing to change when adjusting the comfort of playing. Any player would do well to have one of these on standby if not actively using. I've used one for 8 years and loved it. I recommend to all my peers and students.

As a middle school band teacher, I am always looking for the "safest" option when purchasing accessories and equipment. At the same time, price is an important factor. This product combines both qualities and is what I purchase for use at my school. My students greatly appriciate both the additional security of having a clasp (and not an open hook) and the comfortable padding. In addition, the strap stays in place better and does not change length on its own. It lets me spend more time on teaching and less on adjusting neckstraps. They also are sturdier and more durable than cheaper models. Definitely worth the additional money in my opinion.

Very comfortable. Only problem is that it gets hot with intense playing for an extended period of time.

I've been under the impression that a neck strap is a neck strap, and had been using the same one for over 10 years. It never felt comfortable, and was a size too large. I bought this strap, and wow, what a difference. The neoprene seems to softly distribute the weight evenly. It's easily adjustable (can't say that for all neck straps).

I like the hook too--the hook closes securely, and I like how the opening is large enough to easily latch on to the hook ring (my old strap had a similar hook but thicker and harder to secure). It's about as perfect as a neck strap can get.

Pictures can be deceiving. This strap is basically a cut piece of foam. I pictured it a bit differently. However, it is for my son and he was quite pleased. He said it was exactly what he needed. It took the pressure off his neck.

I'd placed this in my cart a while ago and as such missed the review that already noted it was too short for Tenor. Due to adjustability I really didn't think I could go too wrong, but I was wrong. It only needed two more inches and I'm really not sure why the manufacture didn't just make a one size fits all.

The main purpose of the one star is to hopefully make someone aware of descriptions know that the description needs to be updated and to bring awareness to those purchasing that it doesn't work for tenor and is likely alto only.

So, on to the review of the product.

If you own an alto and this fits your sax I'd actually give it a 3.5 star although I'm clearly more picky than some other reviewers. It'll last and support, but I mark it down for comfort of material as it's itchy.

The Good:
The hook is strong and durable looking
The nylon strap seems sturdy.
The neck has a lot of padding.

The bad:
The materials for the neck feels itchy and I really didn't like it against my neck. It's huge and covers a lot of neck. Due to a lack of fit I can't really test this more.
This does not fit an Tenor sax so I can't use it and the description (at least at the time of purchase and review ) didn't include this information.

I tried to filter out my irritation and just look at the product itself which is okay. Hopefully other Tenor players will read the warning and not purchase this.

Buy this neckstrap!

I used this for marching band and wind ensemble in High School band. It is the most comfortable neckstrap that I have used (10x better than the worthless one included with most saxophones). The stretchy neoprene strap makes the saxophone feel lighter and more comfortable, which really helps for marching band where you will be standing with your instrument for a long time!

It is also very durable and easy to wash. I would recommend it for any saxophone student in middle or high school band, and especially those in marching band!

This is a great strap for an ALTO sax. It is too short for a tenor sax. There is a longer model with the closed hook which I think would work on the tenor sax, and I would order one if it was offered on this site. I think it would be very comfortable if it were long enough for my tenor.
