I bought 2 Bucky Balls packs and was so impressed by this type of toy that I wanted to get something with a LOT more magnetic balls. So I got the Neocube Omega. I have to say I am a bit dissapointed on two fronts:
1. the balls are smaller that the Bucky Balls ones, not by much but enough to be clearly visible to the eye 2. they are matte and not shiny and mirror-like as the Bucky Balls were. I wanted to get the best quality magnetic toy of this type I could find. If I had known these 2 issues before, I would have preferred to buy more Bucky Balls packs even if I would've payed more. If the issues I mentioned above don't bother you though, don't hesitate do buy. Be careful though about placing them near gadgets, pcs etc. And also they could be very easy to swallow by toddlers or pets.

I've had a 6x6x6 cube of bucky balls since December, but i needed more. this seemed like the perfect thing to get. Here are a couple statistics compared to the bucky balls:
-weaker pull. Enough to hold together nicely, but you can not swing things on it, etc. -smaller size (very little size difference, but when put together it makes a differnce) The overall expirence wasnt good. for around 80 dollars i paid for these magnets. When i opened the box i saw that the carrying case was broken from being put together very lazily. The magnets were not in a 10x10x10 cube, but were mushed into another form. If quanity is your thing, you should get this. If quality is your thing, you'd have more fun with a normal set of bucky balls

I ordered this through Amazon, after doing a quick "balls per dollar" calculation.
Pros: - Shipping was fast (USPS priority mail. typically takes 2-3 days nationwide, in my experience). - You certainly get a lot (1027 individual balls) for the money. Whether you need that many or not is a different question altogether! - The packaging was nice, and included both a box and a soft cloth case (more convenient for carrying the clump of balls around with you). - This stuff is a lot of fun (whether you order from neocube, bucky, or any other company)! I ordered this for myself, but according to my wife this is actually a great toy for our three-year-old, helping her develop fine motor skills. This toy is clearly not meant for ANY child to be played with alone, given the high "swallow" risk. Cons: - Cost. Not a major detractor if you need a lot of these (e.g. want to split them up and share them with friends, etc.), but at $80 this is a pretty expensive toy.
