5.0 out of 5 stars Great Shoes for Stand-Up Jetski!
I've been looking for some shoes or low bootys to use on my Yamaha FX1 standup ski, when I wasn't wearing a full wetsuit. I decided to try these.

Great decision! The velcro straps and drawstring tops make these a winner. They stay in place dragging in the surf or anywhere.

I usually wear a 10 1/2 or 11 shoe. I ordered size 10. They fit perfect...

4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad, August 28, 2011

I use these water shoes almost everyday, working at a marina at Lake Mead. The Velcro strap doesn't always stay in place and the shoes start to get uncomfortable after 4 hours or so. I wear size 13 4e shoe and ordered 13, a bit too big. It's been 3 weeks or so and the water shoes are still holding up. Overall a good buy I think.

These boots are better than the drug store equivalent for $5-$10. I normally wear an 11 or 11.5. I originally ordered a pair of these using Amazon's shoe size guide, which was totally off. I returned the first pair and ordered a size 10. These fit perfectly. Just for reference my feet measure 11 1/8" x 4 1/8". I am sort of in between a US 11M and 11.5M. Neosport doesn't offer an online size chart so I hope this helps. The draw cord seems to really secure the boot on your foot. The velcro in many other reviews has a problem with staying secured. I haven't run into that problem yet. One improvement is that there is no insole to move around and bunch under your foot like the drug store beach shoes. I am going to be using mine for kayaking.

These are just great. The neoprene upper is stretchy-snug and reasonably warm, even when soaked. Adjust them to fit once then just slip on and off. Close to the perfect foot-glove; like being barefoot - if your skin happened to be a few millimeters advanced engineering polymers. The flip-side is that they offer exactly zero support if you are one that needs or likes that kind of thing.

Construction and materials are good to very good. The biggest fault is the choice of sole material. At a guess I'd say a blend of natural and synthetic rubbers with some fine mesh silica fill. The intent is a compromise between 'stick' and durability; a compromise that needs a bit of tuning, since it doesn't do either particularly well. The failure mode is wear holes in the sole - heel and ball - before the upper has a chance to fray much.

Verdict: cheap but well designed, constructed. The price paid for exceptional light-weight and comfort is limited wear life. You'll get maybe a year of regular use out of them, but at just $25 or so they are more than worth it.

Recommended. Oh, and round half-sizes up for these.

3.0 out of 5 stars Defective Velcro, October 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The velcro does not hold at all, it looks like velcro but its junkro. The soles do not provide enough grip for windsurfing. try something else.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Shoe, not right for Dinghy Racing, October 2, 2011

I purchased these to use as footgear when racing a 16' MC Scow sailboat. I had used a similar item from Sperry, but after three years of use the soles lost their traction. These shoes were very good for general water use. They however lacked the soft rubber grip that the Sperry's had. As a result they were a little slippery when the boat was heeled over. I shipped them back to Amazon, painlessly and at no added cost for a full refund. I ended up finding a pair of Sperry's at a local retailer and purchased those instead. They work great for my application, however they are quite ugly. The Sperry's are grey and orange.

If you are planning on using these for river walking, etc. they will be just fine. However for my specific application they were not the right product.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Sand In My Shoes!, September 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These are great. I don't get sand in them when I'm goofing off on the beach and in shallow water. They are very comfortable, easy to put on and are true to their size. Cheers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better than nothing..., September 17, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these because my mesh water shoes would constantly fill up with sand. These are made with a solid material and do keep most of the sand out.

The velcro strap is way too long. If I pull it tight it goes all the way over my foot and hits on the ground as I walk which causes it to come loose. The velcro on the strap doesn't hold very well.

These are a pain to put on - something along the top catches my big toe. Once stuck I have to pull my foot out and try again remembering to curl my toes down.

It does NOT have a "hardened insert sole for puncture resistant protection". You feel every pebble. The sole is surprising durable considering how thin it is.
