I used this to swim in cold waters below 50 degrees. It worked pretty well in keeping heat from escaping since a lot of heat gets lost through extremities such as fingers and toes during cold-water swimming.

My main concern is that the quality is poor. After using this product during this past winter, they developed a lot of holes which required me to buy a repair kit and patch up the holes: McNett Aquaseal Urethane Repair Adhesive and Sealant Tube, 3/4-Ounce.

Even with the holes, it lets in a lot of water and is somewhat difficult to remove after swimming.

I would try another brand first, but for me this product got the job done, so I'm pretty satisfied with it.

I got a pair as gift! I also have U.S. Divers 3mm.
There is no comparison between the two!

1. Neosport have inferior stitching quality than us divers
2. Immediately passes water onto your hand where the U.S. Divers would resist that much more! I mean miles ahead!
3. It is hard to get your hand through the glove as unlike most of gloves, it has a narrow closed loop wrist opening.

All in all, don't expect much of this glove. Size was same as U.S. Divers.

Based on reviews, I thought this glove would work. While kayaking in about 45 degree air, my hands got cold and stayed that way. It may have been the water dripping down the paddle and continually coming in through the unsealed seams, or the gloves may not have been thick enough. I'm keeping them in case they work on warmer days, and buying 5mm mitts with sealed seams.

Each year, I help a friend & his family with putting in aluminum docks, boat lift, and swim platform in Lake Winnepesaukee in NH - usually a couple weeks after ice out. Each year, 4-6 of us freeze our a**'s off in 40-55 degree water, trying to manipulate connectors, bolts, etc. Each year, we each donned a wet suit - one designed for diving in moderate waters. This year when I saw the lake was still completely covered in ice on April 9th, I had enough - bought my own heavy wet suit, boots, and gloves. Best investment for this trip ever! Even with late ice out this year, I was perfectly content to remain in the water while others froze!
These ARE still wet suit material, you can't treat them as work gloves and expect them to last. Decent grip, zippers are heavy duty, and they fit true to size. Great insulating power.

If you are going to be underwater in water cold enough to require neoprene gloves then these won't work. I dive as a living and as soon as I go in the water with these gloves I could fell the cold water rushing through the seems like there were huge holes in them. After an hour of working under water my hands are freezing. As long as your hands aren't submerged they will work well, but like I said no good for diving.

True fit. I like them just fine. With the Aqua socks, wetsuit shorty I stayed plenty warm. The water was 55 degrees with a light wind..overcast. However, I was able to do my full workout in the outdoor pool. Little cool going in, but once moving --niiiice. I was quite surprised. Need I say it was the middle of November here in S. Central Texas. It has cooled off early this year. Brrr But my water "clothes" worked great!

These are awesome gloves. I would buy them for anyone. 3mm is the way to go when buying gloves unless you go in really cold water then I would go with 5mm.

After trying both this item and a NeoSport wetsuit, I'd say this brand's neoprene is a bit on the uncomfortably stiff side.

Another gripe is that the length of the glove is very long and makes putting on and removing the gloves a little difficult. I found myself being happier with the infinitely more comfortable (but not as cool looking) US Divers one from Walmart, and ended up returning these.

I am a 5'2" female with small hands. These gloves are still too big. There is a velcro strap so I thought it would help but the strap comes 1.5 inches above my wrist instead of at my wrist, thus, it cuts off my circulation. The quaity of the glove is good. Has a bit more texture on the palm than I would like. I use it for surfing during cold weather and when I wipe my face with my gloved hand, it's abrasive.

I bought these gloves for my husband to replace his old ones. He likes the curve to the fingers without being too curved. He liked how high they came up on his wrist so his wet suit sleeve would go over the top to seal out water. They are a little hard to get on and off when they are wet, but that is to be expected. I am ordering another pair for him for back up.
