5.0 out of 5 stars A Must for Cold-water Swimming
With water temperature hovering around 50 or below, adding this to my wetsuit made it bearable. I would imagine these aren't very good for triathlon swimming, but for casual swimming, this is much warmer than skullcaps because of the added protection to the neck and chest area.

2.0 out of 5 stars Face opening too small.
I sent this hood back because there was too much pressure around the chin. I ordered an XL and it was fine around the back of the head and the eyes, but the hood was fatiguing my jaw. It definitely would have been too uncomfortable to use, especially with a snorkel or regulator. The chin area is quite defined, so if your chin doesn' fit comfortably in that pocket this...

The chin area is quite defined, so if your chin doesn' fit comfortably in that pocket this hood won't work. Unfortunately amazon charges return shipping :(

4.0 out of 5 stars Small Face Area, September 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The only problem I have with this hood is that I have a small face. The face opening is quite small and when I put on my mask which covers most of my forehead and cheeks, the hood over laps it and makes my mask leak. So every time I use it, I have to pull it away from my face. So even though the construction of this hood is intended to cover your forehead and cheek area, it now can only cover my head and lower jaw.

One nice thing is the inside of the hood around the face. It has some kind of seal that prevents water from entering, like the wrist and neck area on my wet suit. But too bad I had to pull back the face and the seal doesn't fit well.
