This 7mm neoprene hood with bib is great for diving in cold water. I dive in Long Island Sound and off of New England, and this hood is perfect for keeping you as warm as possible when you are in colder water. The hood is extra long in the front and in the back so that it will go under any wetsuit and add extra protection against the cold. The hood creates a tight seal around the face and head, keeping a lot of the water out while still allowing your mask to slip under just a little to rest comfortably on your face.

In the colder waters, a hood is absolutely necessary, and this bibbed hood is perfect for the job.

I need a hood for cold water diving up in the North east and, this is more than enough. Given I'd rather have a full vest hood to have a ~14mm core, this will do for beginners, the price is pretty good compared to other cheap hoods, and I'd say it's good to start with this until you have the money for a vested hood. That's my plan at least. It's a little tight in the jaw area for me but it does the job, and I guess it's because its brand new. The material seems well put together and decent quality so it's going to last if you take proper care of it.

I found this extremely uncomfortable around the chin, despite having a small head and ordering XL. It seems to do the job and is certainly warm.
