Product Description

Neocate Infant DHA/ARA is a hypoallergenic, nutritionally-complete, amino acid-based exempt infant formula containing iron and nucleotides. Amino acid-based formulas, also known as elemental formulas, are made from individual amino acids instead of whole protein. Amino acids are the most basic form of protein, and are easy for the body to absorb. Neocate Infant DHA/ARA is the only elemental formula that contains nucleotides, which are naturally found in breast milk. Neocate Infant DHA/ARA is also the only hypoallergenic infant formula that does not contain soy oil. All Neocate powdered products are made in a dedicated, 100% dairy-free facility. Neocate ingredients are certified by suppliers to be derived from non-genetically modified organisms. See label for nutrition information.

Our daughter has severe GER and we tried everything from prilosec to every formula out there enfamil, similac, etc... As last resort our pediatrician said to try Neocate. We have been using it for a month and all symptoms are gone. It's very easy to mix and daughter loves it.

Only thing is its expensive so if you can get your insurance company to cover it that will help. Some states have laws that force them to cover it with a doctors note.

I am so shocked at the price listed here I felt compelled to leave a review to let ppl know that you can get this much cheaper.
This is a necessity to so many, these retailers should feel ashamed charging this price when you can get it direct from the factory at half this price.

ORDERNEOCATE.COM is the factory direct where you can get a case for $139
or
EBAY often has great deals

I hope this helps someone and that no one pays this grossly inflated price for food for their child.

Our son has acid reflux and has it turns out protein sensitivity. We tried regular formula, RS, Soy, even Alimentum to no avail. After multiple pediatrician visits and finally a trip to the ER we were told to go on this by a GI specialist and it worked!!!
This is very expensive without insurance help, $135 for a case shipped from Neocate's website, their standard shipping is very fast in our case. (Do a Google search for coupon codes for another 10% - 15% off on their website, the codes randomly change but a quick Google search for Neocate coupons should give you the current code(s).) It will vary from state to state but if you can get your Dr. to write a prescription for this it SHOULD be covered by insurance. Check the reimbursement section on Neocates website for more information regarding your state.
Obviously this isn't a 1st choice for formula but if your child is having trouble or not wanting to eat, spitting up, has colic, etc. you may want to talk to your Pediatrician about this wonderful formula. It's worth every penny in our case. :-)

Amazon price was comparable to wholesale direct from the manufacturer and is reliable and speedy in shipping. Price is high and 1 can lasts only 4 days. Manufactured in England. Comparable American made product called Elecare, just as good, slightly better price, but if you go to the Neocate manufacterer website and call their customer service you can request your first sample can free. Good product for infants with milk protien allergies. We were concerned about strange colored soiled diaper and pediatrician tested it and came up positive for blood in stool. Doc started us on elemental formulas first. Two are widely available. Similac Alimentum and Enfamil Nutramigen. Enfamil adds DHA to their formula in an attempt to make it more comparable to breast milk but our infant couldn't digest it and passed it as a thick yellow paste. If you sign up at Similac website they will mail you samples of their other formulas but also several coupons for $5 off any of their formulas which really helped offset the cost. Be prepared though. All of these smell horrid and taste nasty as a powder, not as bad once mixed with water. Fortunately infant tastebuds are not as developed. Baby still had a lot of reflux and gas even when we tried adding every colic remedy/gripe water on the market, which also drove up our feeding costs. Pediatrician warned these rememdies are good for occassinal not chronic use. So we stepped up to the Neocate. After making my first purchase on Amazon, I got bolder and started poking around ebay. Occasionally finding a better price but be sure to check shipping charges. Some people make it look like they are selling it cheaper and jack up their shipping charges .Read more ›

We tried multiple formulas for our baby as she is allergic to Soy and possibly Milk as well. Nothing worked, all other formulas have Soy oil and that made our baby to have diarrhea, blood in her stool, and rashes. Neocate has been working great, although it is pricey, it is well worth it!

Don't forget to ask for the "New and Improved" version, which is the Soy-free version.

Neocate is the only thing my allergic child can drink, however this is an outrageous price. You can find it for about $120 with free shipping directly from the Neocate website, and they always have promotional codes, so do a search before you order. I sure hope your baby outgrows their allergies soon. My little one is 2yrs old and still very dependent on Neocate. Good luck.

THIS FORMULA REALLY WORKS. ONLY PROBLEM THAT I COULDN'T GET INFORMATION HOW MUCH IRON BABY GETS WITH EACH FEEDING. AND IS THERE ANY IRON INCLUDED? I MIXED IT WITH RICE CEREAL AND IT WORKS EVEN BETTER. IT IS PRICY, BUT SLEEPLESS NIGHTS WHEN BABY CAN'T DIGEST MILK ARE WORTH.
