4.0 out of 5 stars Great Magnets
These are excellent magnetic hooks. Neodymium magnets are some of the strongest around. My only complaint is that the hooks themselves are very difficult to unscrew out of the magnetic base, making it hard to exchange the hook part with something else.

3.0 out of 5 stars Will Scratch - watch out
I use these hooks to hang splatter guards and microplane graters on the side of my fridge. They are strong enough for the job but they scratch my fridge if I move them! Take care with using these.

Added comment 3/24/10:
I contacted Emovendo, and they have great customer service. It turns out that some of their hooks are glued into the base and others are threaded so that you can unscrew them to use different threaded parts. I told them that I had some glued hooks (because I could visibly see glue on some of them), and they sent me replacement threaded hooks with no problem. I'm a very satisfied customer :)

Added comment 4/3/10:
The screw type for these hooks is M4. This is useful to know if you want to trade out the hook with other threaded parts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful little things!!!!!, March 14, 2010

I purchased these hooks to attach to the vent hood over my range so I can hang cooking utensils from them.

When they arrived, I was very disappointed by their size. They're quite small.

Size is deceiving, however. These are mighty powerful magnets and easily hold anything I want to hang from them.

Much stronger than the magnetic hooks I was using, which were twice as large and half as strong. The old hooks were constantly falling down... none of these have.

They would easily hold a curtain rod over a metal door too.

3.0 out of 5 stars They usually hold, July 26, 2010

These usually hold, but I don't think each holds 12 pounds... either that or they lose their magnetism over a couple of months. I used these to hold up a hanging file in my classroom. I used 3 hooks to hold up the file, which just held stray papers, etc. It fell on a regular basis - always at the most inopportune times. Drove me crazy.

These are ideal for light-weight items. I use them to hang keys, flashlights, clipboards, parts and just about anything else that will stay put on a hook. I haven't tested the 12-pound rating - but these magnets are amazingly powerful for their small size. It makes a difference, though, how heavy a metal surface you use. These work on our "magnetic" white board but their strength and stability are much stronger on a file cabinet or metal shelving.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Strong and a Perfect Size, July 22, 2011

This is my first set of Neodymium Magnets so I didn't fully know what to expect. I had heard these types of magnets are pretty strong, but Wow. These hooks are perfect for the application that I am using them for. I bought them to use with a steel file folder rack that I also bought on Amazon. I have them on the sides and one of the front to hang memory sticks, keys, important mail clipped to a binder clip, etc. Small stuff, but the strength of these little things can probably hold a lot more I'm sure. These little guys give a good loud snap when connecting to a metal surface. Enough to give you a good pinch if you aren't being careful. I couldn't image how strong a magnet that hold 75 or 100 pounds would be that this company also sells.

One word of caution, these things are so strong that the entire hook gets magnetized slightly. It hasn't had any negative effect on the memory sticks that I have hanging on them so far, but if you have something that is particularly sensitive to magnets, you should be careful with these, and really probably any neodymium magnets.

Long story short, these things are great and really strong for something so small. If I find a use for more, I will definitely buy these again.

These hooks have the strongest magnets for something their size. I have them on my refrigerator and I could probably hang a pan on it. I would certainly order again.

I thought they would be bigger and stronger for three bucks a magnet. But they are what they are . . . They are in my humble opinion not strong enough. I read verious reviews and was expecting a "wow" moment, and instead got a "well... okay" moment in its place.
