Neon Blue,
By Tonya Ramagos (Chattanooga, TN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Neon Blue (Paperback)
Attractive DEA agent and blues keyboard player Laurel "Blue" Humboldt finds herself in an under cover investigation wrapped in a game of secrets with the international drug cartel. The story begins with Blue's witness to the gruesome murders of a well-needed informant and a fellow agent. Now a killer is hot on her trail. Blue must find a way to bring down the drug cartel before the killer who is out to get her reaches his mark. At the same time Blue's personal life is up in the air. Battling a love life which remains on shaky vulnerable ground, Blue is keeping her heart locked up tight and then in walks handsome millionaire, John Connor, and beautiful Chinese-American detective Martha Yee. Now, in the middle of one of the toughest cases she has been assigned to, she must make the decision to open her heart and with whom her feelings truly lie. John Argo has done a good job at creating a plot packed with tension and character-driven suspense in "Neon Blue." The insight Mr. Argo provides into the main character of Laurel "Blue" Humboldt's life makes her easy to identify with and we see she is truly a "new age" woman with a head strong drive and who is confident in her career. I found the constant jump between the many characters from chapter to chapter a bit confusing at times but otherwise an entertaining read. |
